Hi,
I would like to start testing F16 but I am not sure what version of kdepim it has. Assuming it has kdepim-4.7.x (kmail2) my question is are there packages available like we have for F15 to allow us to use kde-4.7.x and kdepim-4.4.11 (kmail1)
Cheers
Colin

Currently, no, though we could probably create something unofficial if there's demand for it.

OK Rex, Fingers crossed others will ask for kdepim-4.4.11 (kmail1) for F16 or maybe it should be considered for the F16 release? IMO pim-4.7.x is not ready for prime time as there is still many problems with migration and I'm one of the unlucky ones who suffer from this.
Cheers

The recent blog post of one of the devs seems to agree: http://blogs.kde.org/node/4482

Thanks very much for that link..

Just FYI Kontact 4.4.11 has no problems running on top of SC 4.7 and Akonadi 1.6. I currently use that "bastard" setup on openSUSE but on Fedora it should be similar. On openSUSE the packages to downgrade and then to lock from updates are akregator, blogilo, kaddressbook, kdepim4, kmail, kontact, korganizer, and libkdepim4.
The only quirk is that because of a few string changes the translations are incomplete when using with kde-i18n from SC 4.7

Thanks for the info, however Fedora/kde-redhat already provide kdepim-4.4.11 etc for use with kde-4.7.x for F15, that's what I use now :-)
