Running Fedora 40 on a desktop system with two monitors driven from built in graphics on motherboard (no separate video card). Yesterday I installed all updates including Plasma 6.2. I've noticed that whenever I turn on a monitor I get a notification sound that I've never gotten in the past. It's basically a two tone chime. I've searched through all the notifications in the system settings app and cannot find one related to this. I can't even find the sound file with the same sound. I've had no luck with google nor KDE bugzilla.
What have I missed? Where is this new notification specified? I'm assuming it has something to do with the Plasma 6.2 update.
Thanks for any pointers.

I've noticed several notification sounds that I never used to get, including when the monitor goes to sleep or wakes up. I find it intensely annoying and turned the system volume down to zero in the Settings, which is probably not the best solution.

All the various notifications can be found in the system settings app and you change them there. I have not yet found the one for when the monitor turns on. Mine is a desktop system, not a laptop. The system is always running but I turn both monitors off when I'm not using it. The monitors never turn themselves off when not used.

My system is also a desktop. The monitor goes into power-saving mode after a configurable amount of time and wakes when I click a mouse button or hit a key, thus producing the annoying sound. It doesn't turn itself off.

Yeah. I’m also having a similar issue. Everytime the notification happens my monitors also turn right back on causing another chime and then they’ll go off after about 30 seconds and repeat ad nauseam until I physically turn the displays off from the physical control switches.

Well, I figured out what notification was alerting me. Actually, it was two notifications one after the other. In the system settings under Notifications -> System Notifications it was the "Device uplugged" and Device plugged in" notifications. Just turning off the sound was not enough. After doing that I had to log out and log back in again to make the notifications stop.
