Anyone knows what's going on with KDE bug 188153?

For all of KDE4 I've been unable to use KDE to edit files on an FTP
server via the KIO slave, and there has been little information on
this regression.

kwrite ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/README

(loading, and also saving worked fine for me)

Works in 4.2.90 , both via Open and Konqeuror.

Interesting. What works exactly? Because it hasn't worked for me since
KDE 4 came out, and it's a feature I need.

I opened, made changes to, and saved a file on an FTP server that 
requires authentication.
