All;
I just installed Fedora 41 - KDE on a Lenovo Legion 9, after I did the initial install, and then ran a dnf -y update, I had sound via the laptop speakers. Then I plugged in a monitor and the sound stopped and I have not been able to get it back, even with the monitor unplugged.
I posted to the https://discussion.fedoraproject.org site but got zero replies. The laptop has an Nvidia card and a built in Raptor Lake Audio Controller:
$ lspci | grep Audio 00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake High Definition Audio Controller (rev 11) 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation Device 22bb (rev a1)
Thanks in advance for any help

Have you checked if the nvidia audio device (probably the HDMI link) has become the default audio device? That's likely the reason. If so, you can simply change the default playback device to the other audio controller and everything should be fine. You can see the audio devices either from the speaker icon on the task bar or from system settings

I did check and the "System Settings --> Sound" shows the active playback device as 'Speakers" with the profile set to "Analog Stereo Duplex"
switching to the other available profiles such as "Analog Stereo Output" or "Pro Audio" has no affect
