i recetly made the big mistake opening the GNOME/GTK settings because both applications are using a different mouse cursor than the rest of the system
well, that don't matter any longer - after that font-aliasing in both applications is completly gone making menus completly unreadable
intersing is that don't affect other GTK applications like ZendStuiod (Eclipse) or GNOME
what is going on here and how many decades does it take such BAISC thinhs working on a Linux desktop while teh developer community has nothing better to do then re-invent wheels every few years? ______________________________________
i restored these files wich has a timestamp from today in the running session with no change (the bad change did not need a logout/login, just close thunderbird and start it again)
rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.gtkrc-2.0 /home/harry/.gtkrc-2.0 rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 /home/harry/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.config/gtkrc /home/harry/.config/gtkrc rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.config/gtkrc-2.0 /home/harry/.config/gtkrc-2.0 rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.gimp-2.8/gtkrc /home/harry/.gimp-2.8/gtkrc rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.kde/share/config/gtkrc /home/harry/.kde/share/config/gtkrc rsync.sh root@rh:/home/harry/.kde/share/config/gtkrc-2.0 /home/harry/.kde/share/config/gtkrc-2.0
anyways, rsync'ed current kwallet and kopete folders to the office and then the whole homediretory back from there and made a notice never touch settings again
but *this* are the real problems developers should solve instead replace and rewirte perfetly working things all the time
