Hi, after updating to plasma 5.5 today morning I lost the favorite applications lists in kicker (the K/Fedora starting button), it got empty with the exception of konsole.
I am not sure if it is related with the update, and at the same time it is not annoying because if an application is favorite it should not be hard to remember. :-)
I have re-added the favorites and it now works.
As I said before I am not sure if the cause for disappearance of the favorites was the upgrade. Other than this issue I am an happy camper. :-)
Regards,

the same here
instead of "konsole" the only left was "gimp" interesting: i added gimp a few hours before
additionally: the context menu here to add favorites and so on is english instead of german
i guess there are some packages / builds outstanding, or better said: i hope that's the case which would be better than new bugs

well, yes but.....

100% sure the upgrade
i remembered your post before logout and apply teh upgrade in a VT
oh - and edit menu entries has no effect
systemsettings are missing in the favorites
there are dozen of copies, some of them intentionally hidden but they one which should be visible is not in the menu and so i can't open them nor bring them back to favorites
BTW: could upstream fix the stupid behavior rpeating the entry-name in menu and favorites when someone intentionally

Regards,
I can confirm that it is related to the update.
I just updated a VM from updates-testing and lost favorites. In addition, the background image "Next by KDE..." is wonky.
I think I would not allow this to go to stable.
