Odd vi behavior

As of the latest updates on Fedora 26 (KDE spin) every time I vi a new 
empty file I see this at the top:


$q q


If I do a <Ctl>-L to refresh it goes away, I sometimes see it at the top 
of the window when I vi a existing file.

I can deal with it but it's a nuisance, anyone else seeing this?

Yes, the issue has been reported up-stream (or so I've been told)

You can get around it for now by creating an .vimrc file with....

set term=konsole-256color

In konsole profile, modify General/Environment:
TERM=konsole-256color
