Hi All, This patch series (which I'm forwarding from the intel-gfx mailing list) fixes a bunch of backlight regressions in 3.15+ and as such should probably be added to the stabilization branch. I expect these to land in 3.16 soon enough, but just to be sure we should keep an eye on that too. Regards, Hans

3.15.2-200.fc20.x86_64 fine here

Hi i know there was 3.15.3 released today however, i catched the 3.15.2-200 last night and liked to say that it works fine on two phyiscal machines as well as on 2 virtual servers here IvyBdrige (HP Compaq Elite 8300) SandyBridge (HP Compaq Elite 8200) P.S.: survived also a raid-check on 4 TB RAID10, well, after the in the meantime fixed regression in 3.14 we know that this don't say too much because the freezes happened only after some days uptime, hard to test in case of weekly kernel updates :-)

Would building netconsole in for debug kernels make sense?

If netconsole is built as a module, you can't use it to capture output before the module gets loaded. Rebuilding Fedora srpms (to get Fedora patches) takes pretty long, which makes testing slow. I have something particular I am testing now (probably a nouveau related crash) that crashes for netconsole gets loaded (though I tried to add it to the initramfs to get it loaded fairly early). I am not sure if it will be early enough even if it is built in. I won't know until sometime tomorrow. But if it does get loaded early enough to handle video card related stuff, it seems like it be worth having built into debug kernels.
