There you go.
Attached are 3 patches for the current F-21 kernel,
fixing various uas issues. All 3 have been
The first 2 patches fix issues reported through various
channels (mostly direct emails to me), the third one
Can you please add these to the Fedora kernel builds?
I am getting near the end of a kernel bisect and the changes are pretty
localized and suspect that I really don't need to do make clean between
builds which would really speed things up. Is there a guideline on when
it is safe to skip make clean?
I tested 3.19.0-0.rc3.git0.1.fc22 on three machines and the boot hung
pretty early on one of them. The video mode didn't change when it normally
would have shortly before it hung. However the output had scrolled past
where I might have seen an error message. This makes me suspect that this
is an issue with Nouveau and nv28s. I had another machine that has an nv50
boot a mainline kernel from around rc1 which would have the Nouveau changes,
so if it is a Nouveau probelm it only affects a subset of cards.
I'll look at doing some testing on the machine to see if the problem is
really in the changes to Nouveau support in the kernel, but not tonight.
The 3.19 merge window has been open for a bit over a week now. As
you've (maybe) noticed, rawhide continues to be on the 3.18 kernel.
Last week the kernel team was travelling and handling a merge window
while travelling is recipe for disaster (and/or insanity).
That means that this would be the week to start landing merge window
builds. However, most of us will be on PTO for the end of December,
which would leave rawhide in a somewhat untidy state. Even getting to
-rc1 and then disappearing for an extended time doesn't seem all that
For now, we'll leave rawhide tracking the 3.18.y releases and pick up
the 3.19-rcX kernels when we return. I will send a call for testing
once we start rebasing again. Until then, a special present to you
will be a bit of (maybe unwanted) stability.
If you have any questions/comments, please let us know.
