Further tuning would be needed, perhaps with the exception of ARM.
Really though, tranditional embedded usecases build per-board kernels so
a distro kernel isn't really well suited to that at all. It's difficult
to answer definitively without knowing further what embedded means.
I noticed on a job description posted on devel that there seems to be an
effort on the way pushing MIPS to become a primary arch in Fedora [1].
"The task is to take MIPS through to being a primary architecture in the
Fedora/RHEL space, enabling further enterprise scale deployment of the
MIPS architecture."
Afaik MIPS arch is mostly used on embedded systems so either a new line
of servers are emerging or the intent is to use tablet/mobile devices to
act as new form factor for "next generation of server technologies." so
at least that architecture should be taken into consideration when
making this split so we can limit any disruption/fallout that might come
out of this as best we can to a single cycle.
