The modprobe seems to cause an instant crash. I am not seeing anything
in dmesg.old from the modprobe after rebooting.
I am out of time here now. I'll see if my machine at work has similar
behavior.
At work it just worked.
At home I have an rv280 and a monitor that doesn't do proper EDID and am using
i686 PAE kernel.
At work I have an rv530 and a monitor that does do EDID and am using an x86_64
kernel.
