I am having some problems with my install .. but let me add a Thanks to all the FEDORA
group this is one of the BEST versions yet todate
It could be the LapTop but here is my problems ..
I always reformat and install a GOOD copy. Fedora 11 did it and now 12 is doing it
i am now running a acer travelmate c310 with 2gig of memory and running at 2 GHz and a
200gig drive
1) Some sounds work like sound effects work with no problem all the time but the output
does not work this happens all the time .. windows and
2) cant get the printer working as i need
foomatic-db-filesystem = 4.0-6.20090819.fc12 is needed by package
foomatic-db-4.0-6.20090819.fc12.noarch (fedora)
foomatic-db-ppds = 4.0-6.20090819.fc12 is needed by package

But it will not find them so non of my work can be printeded

usb broadband dongle

Hello laptop people,
If like me you are a pay as you go broadband dongle user, then the attached script might be of interest.
It provides a start and stop icon on the desktop which displays asterisks for each second as the usb port is established.
It then displays the status as the connection is made to your isp.
It consists of two small c++ programs contained in a bash script.
I have it currently working with Fedora 11 and would like any feedback
or suggestions for features.

F12 speaker "click" on lenova T61

Has anyone noticed the speaker "click" or "bang" once if there is any sort of audio activity. It does not repeat for any length of time but sounds off when there is any sort of speaker activity - so a few times on boot and anytime there is a mail notificaiton from Zimbra etc.
Since moving from F11 to F12 on my T61 I'm having this issue with my external speakers. It's louder than the normal audio so it's distracting and sometimes a little startling.

FW: Notebook compatability with FC12 x86_64.

Good Afternoon
I tried all your releases, since the FC11 x86_64 and none of them I can put it working correctly with my Asus M51TR notebook.
The shortcuts from the keyboard doesn't work correctly, I can shutdown the Wireless via the shortcut but not the BT, that stays always ON;
Everytime I start the FC11 and FC12 it gives me kernel errors, even with the updates made via FC update funcionality;
Harddrive controllers doesn't are correctly detected.
The other problems are problems related with the Firefox add-ins that aren't compatible with a 64bit OS (Flash and Shockwave problems).
That kind of problems make me only have a Linux installed in my NB for only 24 hours MAX. I'd like to change from the crappy Windows for a more powerful and reliable OS, but unfortunely FC doesn't are a walk in a park in my situation.
Doesn't someone have any tips that can provide me to help me?

Fedora 12 Console: Laptop dims over time

I cannot start X, so I'm working from runlevel 3. When I my laptop sits and sleeps when I hit a key, it comes back very dim and becomes more dim over time - until I can't even see the screen (so I have to reboot). For some reason my laptop Fn keys for brightness do not work. How do I get these to work?

Acer laptop and touchpad

Dear All,
I have a fresh new install of fedora 12 on my laptop.
During the installation and after the installation was'nt problem. All
worked fine.
Then I made an update and after the update my touchpad was out of order
longer.
I can use the X with my usb mouse, but the touchpad is'nt working.
Could somebody help me to find a solution?
