I've seen some posts on forums regarding this (or something like it) but I can't see any resolution.
Model is L455D-S5976.
I can't seem to get the WiFi card to work. I upgraded to F16 from F14 to see if that would work.
I see the orange/red light on for WiFi but I can't seem to get it to be recognized in Fedora. Fn-8 key doesn't help. It seems to be on but can't join because there is no Wireless network capabilities. The wired network works fine.
I went sniffing around fro drivers but I can't seem to find anything.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
---------- Fedora on Acer Iconia 6120 -------------
I have purchased Acer Iconia 6120 online, i am yet to receive it.
But can not find any info about any linux distro working on this Laptop.
I am eager to receive my laptop but equally interested in Installing Fedora
16 on this Gadget.
Any Help would be highly appreciable.
>From some post in online forum, i got to know that Ubuntu and Mint Crashes
after boot up and if able to start then only one display works. As it has
dual touch screen and at least keyboard functionality from one display is
desirable, while viewing on other.
------ problem with Sony Vaio VGN-CR363/B T8100 2.1 Ghz -------
I have installed fedora on this laptop for a quiet long time and it was
working fine but from few weeks its touchpad is creating problems.
as soon as you touch the touchpad, it right click and left click
functionality are stopped, and only key board shortcuts work . USB Mouse
attached works with limited functionality.
If touch pad is not touched then system works all fine.
Currently one more problem started, even though touchpad has not been
touched, then also the system freezes only cursor moves over the screen
with USB mouse, and keyboard also stops working, i found only one way out
of it, and its Ctrl + Alt + F3, dumping me at init3 level, and could not
start gnome desktop.
I have not been able to figure out the exact problem and hence the solution
For certain features specific for toggling backlight, 3g modem hi-power
mode, toshset is reguired.
Anyone accomplished this in Fedora?
For ubuntu (couple of versions earlier) I had this working and on ppa
someone made this possible by building the acpi module.
I can't find much info on the net. So some help would be appreciated a lot.
I installed fedora 16 64bit on Dell inspiron 17R2 which has
Intel; integrated gfx card(default) + Dedicated external Memory card of nVidia
Geforce GT 525M.
It is not detecting nVidia graphics card.
When I installed nVidia drivers, it was unable to even start X windows GUI.
I tried both 290.10 & 275 long standing nVidia drivers as well as Fedora 16 version of
nVidia drivers to no help.
Can any one give me hint.
Thanks & Regards,
