The reason you got replies all over the place, is T61's are all
over the place. Best ones are all Intel, attached (lspci) t61.txt.
This lap has been usin Fedora since FC7 (now F11), along with PA,
and 3d/acell, external snd an mouse. Lessor models of the t61 used
nVidia and ATI. What is 'useful', is to have some knowledge of the
sys before you buy it, not the 'brand' names, readymades. Of which,
Lenovo's are generally the best. F10+updates testing for over six
m6.
In any event most sys are EOL after three yrs. This T61 has
about 6/m left. The CD/DVD burner is goin south, so is the '1' key.
But I knew both would. I was advised to use an external kybd an
burner.... before I went laptop. Anyhow, duo 2,4Ghz, 160gb HDD,
15.4" WS, for the rest see lspci.... top of the line T61 .... yrs
