Hi:
I have 2 server connected with a two port 10g nic, and and one
port gigabit nic. (total three ports).
I want to do lacp with the two 10g ports. but since the ports
come from the same nic, I want to use the gigabit nic as failover
backup.
can I make lacp team0 with the two 10g port, then make
active-backup team1 with team0 and gigabit nic? I wonder if this kind
of setup is doable and stable.
thanks a lot for your help!!
You should be able to create a single team with all three NICs.
On your switch, create an LACP port-channel with the 2x10G ports, and
another LACP port-channel with the 1x1G port.
The team will negotiate one LACP Aggregator on the 2x10G ports, and
another LACP Aggregator on the 1x1G port.
Only one Aggregator should be used at one time.
You can control which aggregator is used with the "agg_select_policy"
option. You probably want to use "bandwidth".
The result should be: Any time you have either/both of the 10G ports
up, those will be used. If you pull out the 10G cables, then the
Aggregator fails over to the 1G port. When you plug the 10G cable(s)
back in, the Aggregator goes back to the 10G port(s).
