Could this be why I see a difference between Fedora 18 and Fedora 19? In Fedora 18, booted to Gnome 3, the CPU is high. When I set Fedora 18 to fallback mode, the CPU usage drops to normal levels. Then in Fedora 19 it doesn't seem to matter what mode I am in, the CPU usage is always high.Thanks.

In a regular environment I always disable them. They may be helpful to some tasks for some users, but not for me and they all really suck up CPU cycles when taken together.
Might there be some way to disable them in a LiveCD? I have not explored that.
