Try removing the driver info, and the hsync vsync settings in the
xorg.conf.
X may do some autoconfiguration if this info isn't present.
I've not tried it myself. Seems reasonable though.

I'll give a try to this one too.
but normally what I do (which is not the best solution) is, I patch my
xorg.conf to use vesa during post install .
