Is it possible to use yum setup on build host?

Hello!

I wonder if it's possible to use the yum setup on the machine you're
using to build the livecd, instead of using the "repo" commands in the
.ks file? In case it is, how do you do it?

In case I need to use the repo command in the .ks file, I would like
to know if it's possible to use "includepkgs=" in any way.

If you want full-blown yum configuration file functionality you may need
Revisor instead of livecd-tools, as not all yum configuration directives
have a kickstart repo command equivalent, and livecd-tools only creates
a yum config from these repo commands in kickstart, and the --repo cli
parameters you pass it.

Use of the repo commands is far preferable as it keeps things more
self-contained so that the config can be later used to recreate your
live image without someone having to know the exact state of other files
on your system.

That said, if someone wanted to write a little utility to parse
the .repo files and spit out a set of repo lines, I can definitely see
that being something useful and we could include it in livecd-creator

As Jeroen alluded to, at present, there's no way to do includepkgs (or
excludepkgs) on a per-repo basis.  It's something that has come up from
time to time, though, and I wouldn't be against extending the repo
syntax to support it.  The first step would be filing a bug against
pykickstart (cc me) asking for pykickstart to support it.  Once it goes
in, I'll get livecd-creator using the syntax.
