Join with fedora-insight introduction

Hello Team,
I am Buddhika Kurera[1] more info can be found at my userpage.
By reading FAmSCo meeting logs I understood that fedora-insight needs
support, so decided to join with the team and support as much as possible.
Being frank I am new to fedora-insight. I m a member of FAm, FWN and mkt
teams
(and also a member of design team yet not an official member but I am sure
I am doing well there as well)
therefore when reading the insight project page[2] feel like I can do
something.
I ll be leaning about the team work and tasks and will join with assigned
task soon.
My interests laid on web development with PHP, graphic design, CSS design.
Further I was contributing to DocBook project[3] as well.
Therefore I am familiar with DocBook as well.
Therefore seems like I can do something with the project.
Please help me to find a task as I have noted above as my preferences.

Thanks for your offer to contribute to FWN! Yes, we are always looking for new writers. One suggestion might be to cover Fedora and other Linux events in Hungary, and if you do any writing, we would be pleased to accept your writing in any language that you like; English is the primary language in FWN, but I think it is good to demonstrate that Fedora is a global community. You could also pick up one of the beats that is dormant; do you work on a particular Fedora team, other than helping with Insight? If you are passionate about a particular area, that's usually a good area to consider writing for.
As for the idea of a Fedora Magazine, there have been several iterations and attempts to do just that in the past. Our current focus is to develop Fedora Insight, which you have been a contributor to already, to be the clearinghouse portal for information on the Fedora Project. As you also know, Peter Borsa, Paul Frields, myself and others will be working on some calendar use cases for Insight during FUDCon 2012 in Blacksburg, VA USA. We probably will need ongoing Drupal theming work as Insight expands.

[Insight] Can't make tomorrow's meeting

What FOSS collaborative tools are available to contributors, what is needed?

Hi there,
>From the survey thread on the amba list[1] it appears that people
simply use what they know and don't even look for open alternatives.
Is there a wiki page showing all collaborative tools set up for contributors?
I've heard about an etherpad instance last year… Still up?
What about setting a dudle[3] instance (doodle like) or similar?
UNG Docs ("UNG is Not Google") looks great for online office tools,
never tried. But could be used instead of google doc.
What about survey? I've seen some the past year, I am sure that we
have something around.
Simply give inputs I will then fill a wiki page if needed.
As a Fedora Project Contributor, I feel really proud to tell people
that we are all using only free and open source software (please don't
check my smtp server…). There are many great free alternatives, we
should highlight them (or set up them using our infra if there is no
online service yet).

[Insight] Insight dev server and theme status

Hi People!
Yesterday there was our weekly Insight meeting on #fedora-meeting
channel at Freenode network. We talked about my initiative, the
Insight office hours. I have a plan, let's see what is it.
Fedora Insight theme
Yes, you read it correctly, we need (Drupal) themer who are willing to
help us in development. It is good, if you know the following
languages, HTML - CSS - PHP. On the next office hour (this Thursday
21:00 - 22:00UTC) I'm working on the Drupal 7 Insight theme.
You can look at our old Drupal 6 theme at

theme wiki page,

If something is not clear or you do not want to set up a complete
Drupal instance or anything else, please let me know, I am sure we
will find a solution.
I’m not a themer, how do I provide helpful critique on what the
Insight team is working on so I can help too?
It is not problem, if you are not a themer. We need some tester who
are testing this new theme, who are looking for small bugs or huge
bugs. But if you tell us your ideas, thoughts or maybe you give us a
new mockup, well that would be awesome :) Do not be shy, if you have
something, come there and tell us.
Fedora Insight Development Server
My previous blog entry might have disturbed you. That is my local
sandbox and it is not one hundred percent that will be exists two
weeks later. I just wanted to test some modules because I did not want
to mess our dev. server, http://insight02.dev.fedoraproject.org. But
we talked it yesterday, Paul and I will update our dev server as soon
as possible. I hope it will be done by the end of this week.
