Package installation on pt4.fp.o
by Paul W. Frields
I installed the following packages from epel-test repo onto
publictest4:
drupal6-advanced-help.noarch 0:1.2-2.el5
drupal6-auto_nodetitle.noarch 0:1.2-4.el5
drupal6-ctools.noarch 0:1.8-4.el5
drupal6-flexifilter.noarch 0:1.2-2.el5
drupal6-footnotes.noarch 0:2.5-1.el5
drupal6-rules.noarch 0:1.4-3.el5
I can't install the drupal6-views_bulk_operations package until
drupal6-views is available. That's Jon Ciesla's package, as seen in
this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=646610
We actually need CCK as well, which is this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=646611
Note that publictest4 is on EL-5 right now. I'm hoping that we'll be
able to move to EL-6 at some point. The state of these packages is
the same on EL-5 and EL-6, though -- so we need to work through this
issue one way or the other.
Jon, Volker -- how should we proceed here?

[Insight] Meeting reminder
by Paul W. Frields
We'll be meeting today at 3:00pm EDT (1900 UTC, remember time change)
in #fedora-meeting-1. Previous meeting notes are seen here:
http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting-1/2011-03-07/insight.2011...
The only pending actions are puppet-related, so we can start working
on a staging instance. I think averi has already made some progress
here. I think we should try to spend the majority of the meeting
discussing:
(1) Next steps for staging. I presume we need a host on which to
iterate through a deployment, so we can find out where our puppet
definition needs to be modified. If we can get that finalized in the
next day or two, we should be ready for production very quickly.
(2) Update the content in the database. That way when the content is
copied it will be fairly up to date, with a couple recent stories of
interest including the newest weekly news.

[Insight] Meeting time is EST, next Monday will be 1900 UTC
by Paul W. Frields
As previously agreed upon and listed on the wiki, our meeting time is
set via US-Eastern time (3:00pm).
After this weekend, for a few weeks, daylight savings time in the US
will not align with most places in Europe that use it. Our current
2000 UTC meeting time will change to 1900 UTC next week. That means
in Berlin and Rome, for example, it will be 8:00pm/20:00, and in
Caracas it will be 2:30pm/14:30.
This should only be the case for a few weeks; by the end of March most
places that observe DST will have changed. Hopefully this won't be
too much of an imposition for anyone who normally attends?

FW: [ND-LIBLSD-L] Know Puppet?
by Pascal Calarco
Fedora Insight team --
I checked with my sysadmin team here to see how much knowledge we have with puppet; we've used it to help populate our GFS RHEL cluster, but not much beyond that, I'm afraid. So we may want to find some other Infrastructure folk to help with FI puppetization.

Tom and I have used puppet a bit. I've written a small hierarchical
config that established some norms on the cluster servers, but that's
about it. If it got much deeper than that, I'm not sure we could help.

nice :)
But it's only about softwares.
There is nothing about docs nor websites.

RE: [Ambassadors] EVENT: Indiana Linux Fest, budget finalized
by Pascal Calarco
Hi Dave, John and Larry and all--
Thanks for pointing out these particulars and the link to the cost coverage; I'd hadn't seen this before.
Nick noted that he plans to rent a car from his location, so indeed I just had this in the budget as an estimate. With others driving in personal cars, we'll keep gas receipts.
I am glad Ben is able to come; he's a seasoned booth veteran for many shows, and is very familiar with the EventBox and setup logistics, more so than anyone else attending, I think. Ben has also expressed interest in attending DrupalCon, and getting involved in contributing to Fedora Insight in some capacity, which is great, since most of the FI team right now is physically in Europe and LATAM.
We're able to bring together three Indiana Fedora Ambassadors for this event, which will help build up capacity & capability for future Indiana Fedora presence events.
Finally, I had the pleasure to meet Mark Terranova at FUDCon Tempe and I appreciated his infectious enthusiasm for FLOSS and mentoring of an ASU student attendee during the conference; he emailed me directly indicating he would love to help with ILF.
Overall, Fedora will have a strong presence at ILF, which will pay dividends with the expected large Indiana University/IUPUI student attendees at the event and other attendees from the greater Ohio Valley region.
I really appreciate all the help and encouragement that Larry, John and others have provided, and while this is the first Event I've been the owner for, I feel I'm learning a lot that I'll be able to contribute back in organizing other events that the Fedora Project will have a presence at in the future!
Yours in Fedora,
- pascal

I'm going to assume in this context mileage really meant an estimate
of actual fuel costs. It is a good point and folks need to always
remember they need good RECEIPTS for any reimbursable expense.

And I think here we see a little inexperience with the event
organization process. There are good reasons for both Mark and Ben to
attend and I would encourage Pascal to add them to the wiki so
everyone can see WHY we are funding travel for people from long
distance. I'd be happy to share why I think both bring value to the
event here, there, or on IRC but I'm not the organizer and I think he
should express his thinking.
Given that vagueness I do have reasons and do support funding both
Mark and Ben in this case.
John
