Hi!
So here are some starting questions regarding the podcast integration idea for Insight, solicited on our Phase 2 project plan[2]. PLEASE ADD MORE!
Don't bother worrying about how much work it will take to make it happen, this is just about identifying or brainstorming an ideal situation. We can break it down into work details later! :-)
So, here is the questions...
* What would you like to attach to an article or story? video and/or audio files and/or something else? * Would you like to listen to the attached podcasts? * Would you like to download podcasts?
* Add more here...

Video/audio Files,
- Would you like to listen to the attached podcasts?
Depends of the podcast, if something that explains how to do something with examples, sometimes I rather to listent music while I watch; in the other hand when is like an Interview or a spech, I do like to listen what a video -says-
- Would you like to download podcasts?
Only if I go to a place with not internet conection
- Add more here...

I think what would be more effective is to state these not as questions, but to state a use case. In other words, pretend that you are someone who's going to use the function. Describe yourself and what you want to accomplish. For example: "I work on the Fedora Marketing team and I've interviewed a developer regarding a cool feature in the next release of Fedora. I want to put it somewhere it'll be seen by RSS readers."
Does that sound reasonable, and if so, can you take another shot at this list?
Hi!
Let me try this again. Here are two use case which I imagined, I hope it will helpful. If you have any use case, please, tell me.
* General users / Fedora contributors
* I want to find all podcasts about Fedora.
RIGHT NOW: There are some podcasts on the different places like wiki. (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F11_release_podcasts) These podcasts are hard to find.
SHINY FUTURE: I would like to see a list where I can find all podcasts that are recorded, can sort those by name, date etc-etc.
* I want to listen to those podcasts on the page.
RIGHT NOW: I can not listen to those because there is a link to the file(mp3, ogg). If I do not have a browser plugin I can not play it in the browser.
SHINY FUTURE: I would like to use a flash player to listen to those podcasts, create a playlist.

This seems like a medium or huge win, because we really have nothing serving this purpose currently.

This seems like a small win to me, because most browsers do have plugin support for either free (Ogg Vorbis) or non-free (MP3) formats. Obviously we would want to provide the free format, but have some sort of graceful fallback so people who are trying to find out more about Fedora using a user-hostile platform (without free codec support) can still do so. The mechanics of that aren't important right now, we can debate that part later if needed.
What do people think about these estimates?
Hi!
I agree with Paul's estimates, so +1 from me ;)

From my perspective, I agree with trying to organize content first, and then work on improving the user experience vis-a-vis format. +1

We also should capture use cases for people who want to submit something. That would require a way to upload, a (backed up) place to store and reference things, a licensing assurance, and a workflow for accepting, checking, and publishing the media.
