Bug ID: 2050290 Summary: lua: typo on man page Product: Fedora Version: 35 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Component: lua Severity: low Assignee: spotrh@gmail.com Reporter: loganjerry@gmail.com QA Contact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: 4le@live.com, drjohnson1@gmail.com, lua-packagers-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org, mhroncok@redhat.com, michel@michel-slm.name, rob.myers@gtri.gatech.edu, spotrh@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Classification: Fedora
Description of problem: The man page says (in part):
LUA_PATH, LUA_PATH_5_4 Initial value of package.cpath, the path used by require to search for Lua loaders.
That should be package.path, not package.cpath. This caused me a minute or so of confusion. :-)
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): lua-5.4.3-4.fc35.x86_64
How reproducible: N/A
Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

--- Comment #1 from Miro Hrončok mhroncok@redhat.com --- I was like: that should be easy to fix, let's send them a pull request upstream. But apparently, they use mailing lists to do that, so I'll pass :(

--- Comment #2 from Ben Cotton bcotton@redhat.com --- This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 35 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 35 on 2022-12-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '35'.
Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version.
Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 35 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.

--- Comment #3 from Jerry James loganjerry@gmail.com --- This man page bug is still present in Rawhide. I am also not keen on subscribing to a mailing list to report a 1 character bug.

--- Comment #5 from Aoife Moloney amoloney@redhat.com --- This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 38 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 38 on 2024-05-21. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '38'.
Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it.
