Fedora 14 no maximise\minimize text or buttons in apps
by Frank Murphy
Installed lxde x86 from an F13 liveCD,
yum updated to F14. with
"yum update --releasever=14 fedora-release\*"
then "yum update" and "yum distro-sync"
Have noticed that all the min\max is gone.
Even the panel can be hidden, if a window moved downward.
all used apps have the problem eg. pcmanfm, firefox, terminal,
Unsure if lxde, or a broader problem.

Fedora 16 Beta RC3: desktop validation requested
by Adam Williamson
Hey, everyone. We have one final Beta RC (hopefully!) for desktop
validation:
http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/16-Beta.RC3/Live/x86_64/
We could really use some help ensuring the desktop validation tests are
done across all the desktops to make sure they're in shape for Beta.
More info and the results page here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_16_Beta_RC3_Desktop
It's easy to do the tests and file the results, there's full
instructions there, but do feel free to poke me or anyone else in
#fedora-qa if you have trouble.
At minimum we need the Alpha and Beta tests for Desktop, Fallback and
KDE to be complete in order to sign off on the Beta release, but it'd be
great to have results for all of the tests for all desktops.
We got the tests done for Desktop and KDE in RC2, and there should be no
difference with RC3 - the only changes between RC2 and RC3 are an
updated libreport to fix a bug with reporting bugs from the installer,
and dropping gnome-documents from the default install as it crashes on
start - but we still need to check. Fallback mode is highest priority as
that wasn't tested in RC2.
Thanks!

F15 Create panel launcher for app?
by Frank Murphy
Hi,
I want to add upstream Azureus\Vuze to the panel.
Havn't figured out how as yet.
I can start it in a terminal, using cd /path/to/ then
./azureus(or ./vuze)
PS:
I do use Fedora packaged azureus for everyday torrents,
but it cannot install plugins I need,
so I install plugins using upstream,
and they appear and work in Fedora version.

lxpanel uses a lot of resources in F15 LXDE spin
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
I have been using LXDE and F both, since F12, but the F15 install seems
to have a disproportionally large amount of CPU. To understand what I
am saying, see the output of top
1422 maitra 20 0 548m 15m 9944 R 97.5 0.8 88:11.92 lxpanel
2739 maitra 20 0 15124 1140 844 R 1.9 0.1 0:00.01 top

2 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.01 kthreadd
3 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.17 ksoftirqd/0

7 root RT 0 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.02 watchdog/0
.........
Note that lxpanel has been running with a huge dose of CPU for
89:12:02 minutes (since I turned in .
Any suggestions? Why is lxpanel so very active?
Best wishes,
Ranjan
