Can we drop this tag on all list emails? All clients offer ways to filter email from lists. In some readers, this tag makes it harder to read the actual subject line to tell what the message is about. IIRC common Fedora netiquette is to not use this tag. By the way, you can use the header List-Id to filter easily. You can use the term "list:magazine@lists.fedoraproject.org" in Gmail's filters as well. Hez guys, what do you think about an article about Fedora activities in Google Summer of Code? That would sure give it a good ring? Maybe talk to the mentors and students, ask them for their experience, what it gave them, etc? I think there could be one version for the Magazine and another for the blog, the blog one being more technical and tagged with relevant groups. What do you think? There was an issue with the WP RSS Image plugin on the Magazine acting badly with start.fp.o. Robert Mayr (robyduck) brought it to my attention earlier. I believe a weekly series on either the CommBlog or the Magazine that consisted of a quick report from every subproject and a list of things they are working on and would like to get some more help with would be useful? I am thinking about the kinds of projects that languish because the contributors in a subproject are all busy but which could be worked on by others. Many times these projects are not "newbie" level and require advanced knowledge of the project overall. Other contributors in other areas might be interested and this would encourage cross-pollination. regards, bex

[magazine] GRUB2 Article

Hi all, I am tasked with editing the GRUB2 article for release on Friday, however the article is a lot rougher and needs a lot more work than previously anticipated (plus some additional time for a tech review, as i am not well versed in GRUB tech). So what do people feel about removing the GRUB article from the schedule and replacing it with a recently added draft about the new Directory Server version in Fedora[1]. IMHO the directory server article is pretty much ready to go, it just needs a bit at the top about it being available already in Fedora, and a featured image, both of which i can do. Hi all, I was chatting with someone about articles on opensource.com earlier today, and he reminded me that that blog's team sends out a monthly email to a listserv of existing authors, that contains some ideas for potential blogs. Seems to me that this might be useful for the Magazine's past authors to (a) inspire them to keep writing, and (b) give them an idea of what would create good content. What do others think? [magazine] Featured images for Fedora Magazine

Hi, The Design Team has an issue, with tasks. Well on one hand its a good thing that all problems and tasks get solved fast (at least most of them) on the other hand we have several people that wish to contribute and search for tasks they can do. We talked at the Design Team FAD about this and came up with some ideas how to fix this. One idea was to let them make the featured images for Fedora Magazine. Ryan agreed to that in the meeting and also later on wrote a mail to the design-team list: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/design-team@lists.fedoraproje… There is only one problem now, newcomers dont know, what featured image is needed as there is no ticket for it. They mostly look to the design-team trac instance (they dont look to e.g. badges trac) The question is now, if you would create trac tickets for it or if we stick to pagure issues, which might be right now only partly solves the problem as we had one place more where a newbie has to look. There would be another issue with using the pagure instance, we award badges for fixing tickets and that would currently not work. So it looks we have to go for a while with creating tickets at http://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ and fix some problems we need for our process in using pagure. So can you create this tickets, for open featured images? That will not include that ones which are urgent, Ryan will still do them on short notice, so just the ones who have some days time to get fixed. br gnokii

Hiya, folks. As much as a devotee of Fedora that I am, I don't really think I'll be contributing to the magazine. How can I remove myself from this list? Postorius seems inscrutable to me and I don't seem to have any credentials that "work" for signing in. (Something is really hosed with my Fedora account, it seems - after resetting my password and trying to log in, I always get "The credentials you supplied were not correct or did not grant access to this resource.")
