Introducing myself
by Aivar Annamaa
Hi!
I'm a CS teaching assistant from University of Tartu, Estonia. I recently submitted my dearest project Thonny (Python IDE for beginners, http://thonny.org) into Fedora repository. Miro Hrončok, who helped me with this, suggested me to write an introduction to Thonny for Fedora Magazine. So here I am, eager to write a pitch and receive your input :)
best regards,
Aivar

V-rep on Fedora - Introduction
by Jogender Kvs
Hi,
I would like to write the following article:
Summary: Getting started with V-rep Robotic Simulator in Fedora
Description: This article aims at giving the reader an overview of how to
get started with V-rep Simulator on Fedora.
>> The step-to-step guide to installing V-rep.
I plan to write a second article following this that would explain about
its features,
dependencies, etc and working with V-rep using any language on fedora
>> Features, and dependencies of V-rep
>> Working with V-rep
I have drafted my idea here[1]. Please review the same.

Container testing article edited
by Paul Frields
Hi,
Pursuant to the last editorial board meeting, I edited the container
testing article that Petr Hracek contributed. It's ready but needs a
featured image if you have time to do that.

article idea: Fedora for Ubuntu users
by Matthew Miller
In looking at help forums, I often see questions from people coming
from the most popular Debian-based distribution. Since the Debian world
does a lot of things differently, it's common to see:
* How do I apt-get install things?
* Where are the logs?
* How do I get sudo access?
* How do I configure networking
I think an article targetting these users would be useful. (Being
careful, of course, to not make it antagonistic or hostile to our
friendly rivals from Canonical.)

Writing Documentation for Fedora - Docs FAD
by Brian Exelbierd
We are looking for interested people who are willing to write docs in person for one week. You don't have to be an existing docs team member to participate. It helps if you're familiar with AsciiDoc, but if you're not, it's easy to learn.
You'll hang out with other people interested in making Fedora documentation the best in the world. Fun will be had, but mostly it will be the sort of fun which involves sitting in a small room intensely focused on writing and editing. If that's *your* idea of a good time, this will be a good experience for you.
You can find details about the FAD, including the goals here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Documentation_2018
The Fedora Council has approved funding and we will make selections based on the ability to the person asking and within our approved travel budget. https://pagure.io/Fedora-Council/tickets/issue/174
Interested? Open a Pagure ticket in the Fedora Docs tracker here: https://pagure.io/fedora-docs
Please include:
- Your Name/FAS
- Why you want to come and what your background in writing (of any kind) is.
- Any specific areas of interest
- Location you will travel from
We will start picking people ASAP.
Thanks,
bex & Matthew
