[Draft]: Fedora classroom: Getting started with L10N
by Ankur Sinha
Hello,
The post announcing the L10N classroom session is ready for review. The
classroom session is on the 21st of January, so it would be ideal if the
post could be reviewed and scheduled for publication the week before.
I've not been able to find a public preview link recently. This does not
work, for example:
https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=24231&preview=true
Has something changed? I seem to have a "new" editor UI, but a few of
the options seem to no longer be available. I had to use "quick edit" to
change the status of the post from "draft" to "pending review" too.

Request for article update
by Gregory Bartholomew
Hi, I found another change that needs to be made to the "How to Build
a Netboot Server, Part 2" article.
If an editor can insert the following 3 lines immediately after the "#
sed -i 's/nfs/iscsi/' /etc/dracut.conf.d/netboot.conf" line, it will
improve the netboot client's ability to re-establish its iscsi
connection when it goes down (as can happen if the user lets the
system go into power-save mode):
# sed -i '/^node.conn\[0\].timeo.noop_out_interval /s/=.*$/= 0/'
/fc28/etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf
# sed -i '/^node.conn\[0\].timeo.noop_out_timeout /s/=.*$/= 0/'
/fc28/etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf
# sed -i '/^node.session.timeo.replacement_timeout /s/=.*$/= 86400/'
/fc28/etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf
The timeout values used above are the recommended values to use when
running an iscsi root as explained in section 8.2 of
/usr/share/doc/iscsi-initiator-utils/README.
Also, "Ipdate" should be "Update".
Thanks,
gb

Posts edited and scheduled
by Paul Frields
I missed my task to edit and publish on Friday. Therefore, in a fit of
guilt and penitence ;-) I edited and scheduled all three posts for
next week. Cheers everyone!

VPN Article (Potential Spam)
by Matt Harwood
Hi all,
During yesterday's meeting we discussed the VPN article currently in the Pitch queue. It seemed a little like paid promotion / spam to Paul and I, and I said I'd look in to it.
I can't find the author's contact details on FAS in the magazine group, but I did find his LinkedIn profile, in which he shows he is a PR Consultant writing such articles to promote clients.
In order to message him there, I need a premium account, which I don't have.
Anyway, I think it's pretty clear the article wasn't written with the best intentions but a similar article without the promotion might have some merit.
I'll put in a pitch ahead of next week's meeting with a germ of an idea and we'll go from there, if agreed by all?
Many thanks

Pitch: Chromium on Fedora finally gets VAAPI support!
by Akarshan Biswas
Hello everyone. My name is Akarshan Biswas. I am working on maintaining VAAPI patch for chromium on Fedora and recently Tom Callaway decided to merge it to rawhide. I was suggested by Justin and Ben Cotton to write an announcement post for this and I have written a draft which contains some history, comparison and announcement. I am new to writing posts and this is probably my first post in Fedora Magazine.

[Draft]: Fedora classroom: Fedora Silverblue
by Akarshan Biswas
Hello,
Continuing with the classroom series, here is a draft for the Fedora Silverblue classroom session that is scheduled for Thursday, February 7th 2019. Could it also be reviewed, improved, and scheduled for publishing 5--6 days before the session( @ around first week of February)?
Preview Link : https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=24312&preview=true ( Wordpress decided to update itself just before I started writing this email and now this draft's public preview link is not working. But I guess reviewers, moderators will be able to access the preview link that I mentioned in this mail. If in case it doesn't, please inform me. )
We will like to keep trying to submit the rest of the classroom announcements in advance as well.

Thank you.
