Hello everybody,
It's been brought to our attention that part of our guide uses a technique that could cause problems according to RPM Fusion, and we would like to make appropriate edits.
We would need to remove bullet point 8 under 'Installation' and replace 'Then, reboot once again.' in bullet point 7 with, 'If you're using an older GPU or plan to use multiple GPUs, check this website https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/NVIDIA?highlight=%28CategoryHowto%29 for further instructions.'
Also, at the end of the article, could we add '*Coauthored by Matthew Kenney and Justice del Castillo.*'
Thanks y'all, jdc
Hi Justice,
Do you want to remove the entire "#8" from Installation? This entire section:
8. After reboot, go to ‘Show Applications’ on the side bar, and open up the newly added NVIDIA X Server Settings application. A GUI should open up, and a dialog box will appear with the following message:
NVIDIA X Server Prompt
Take the application’s advice, but before doing so, ensure you have your NVIDIA GPU on-hand and are ready to install. Please note that running nvidia xconfig as root and powering off without installing your GPU immediately may cause drastic damage. Doing so may prevent your computer from booting, and force you to repair the system through the reboot screen. A fresh install of Fedora may fix these issues, but the effects can be much worse.
If you’re ready to proceed, enter the command:
sudo nvidia-xconfig
If the system prompts you to perform any downloads, accept them and proceed.

Yep! And, I forgot to mention, we should probably change bullet 9 to 8 as well.
Also, if we could remove the ", with the fans facing down. If there is no space for the fans to ventilate in this position, place the graphics card face up instead, if possible." part of Installation's tenth bullet point, that would be great.
Finally, if we could add a note saying "NOTE: this guide only covers hardware installation for desktop computers, although the NVIDIA driver installation will be relevant for laptops as well." at the bottom of the preparation section, that would be much appreciated as well.
Thank you! jdc
Hi Justice,
I have made these changes to the article. Take a look at let me know if you notice anything else.

Hi,
Reads well, I think! :) I've made a few suggestions below, feel free to use if you think that they add to the article :)
Perhaps change this: If you don't know it, open a Terminal (Applications > System Tools > Terminal) and type:
To this: If you don't know how to do it, open a.....
Consider changing this: This driver is suitable for any GPU found in 2010 and later.
To: This driver is suitable for any GPU made since 2010 and later.
Perhaps from (3 times in the article): Please remember to wait until the kmod get built earch time a new kernel rise up.
To: Please remember to wait whilst the kmod gets rebuilt each time the workstation or server is rebooted.
Hmm... Is it worth moving the secure boot section more towards the top of the article? It's a fairly big Show-Stopper - it's only a thought, as I'd hate for people to try to install the nvidia drivers to find themselves with a secure boot install! XD
Best,
James

Hey Link,
After getting some user feedback, we think adding this:
"Finally, to ensure a successful reboot, set "WaylandEnable=false" in /etc/gdm/custom.conf, and make sure to avoid using secure boot."
to the end of first paragraph in Installation step seven would solve reported problems.
Also, we've been hearing a lot about how this article seems to support proprietary products, so if you think it would be appropriate to add a disclaimer to the beginning of the article, we typed this one up:
"Disclaimer: Neither Fedora Magazine, nor the authors of this article, support or endorse NVIDIA software or products, and recommend the use of open source alternatives where possible."
Thank you for helping with these edits.

Done. The way this guide is written, do you think you'd be interested in replicating it on docs.fedoraproject.org, maybe as a Quick Doc (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/quick-docs/en-US/index.html)? Guides there can be edited over time, as their topic evolves, whereas an article cannot.
Also, we've been hearing a lot about how this article seems to support proprietary products, so if you think it would be appropriate to add a disclaimer to the beginning of the article, we typed this one up:

This article has been a very hot topic these last couple weeks. I'm not sure that disclaimer would do anything to quell the grumbling. NVIDIA as a topic is polarizing in the Linux community. This article avoids opinion and sticks to a straightfoward, practical installation guide. I like that about it, so I think we can go without a disclaimer. Thanks though!
Thank you for helping with these edits.
