The 4.8 kernel was released on Sunday and we are now in the merge window for the 4.9 kernel. I'd like to do a short article on some of the options and features that are coming in for 4.9 in rawhide. The merge window for the kernel is two weeks so I would have a final draft after October 16th, assuming the usual schedule holds.

I tried to focus on a few features that are particularly interesting to Fedora (power management, containers, security, and arm64). If something super exciting comes in at the end of the window I may edit it so please double check with me at the beginning of next week.

Thanks Laura! We'll keep it in draft status for now so you will be able to edit it freely (permissions get tricky after the article is marked as "pending review" status).
