I don't know if this is already planned or worth doing an article. I just heart kernel 5 is released and now wonder when it will be available on Fedora. Probably a good idea for an article.

It might be, although note that the version number is really nothing special -- Linus Torvalds just likes to reset after the point release numbers start getting in the double digits.

Yeah it's really just another release like anything else. He bumped the number mostly because he felt like it. It's built for f30 and will be in the beta. f29 and f28 will get it sometime in April probably.
As for whether it's worth it to write an article, if you think there are features in there which would be interesting to Fedora users, I think it could be a good article.
