Hello,
I'm Vikash, currently a grad student in Mathematics in the Netherlands. I would like to contribute a little to the Fedora community, and figured that helping writing articles for Fedora magazine would be something I'd enjoy doing. I have a little experience in programming (working on C now, and basic knowledge of R and Python), and have been using Linux for over 10 years now (I definitely would not call myself an expert, but I surely am past the beginner stage).
I think Ive been a little too excited, as I already have finished my draft. Here is it: https://fedoramagazine.org/safe-eyes-redshift/
Could you give me permission to contribute to the magazine? And perhaps review my draft?
Kind regards, Vikash

This is nice (thanks — good work!) but we have a little conundrum — Redshift doesn't work with Wayland. There is a shell extension, but I haven't used it. I saw a blog post about it here, though: http://www.thelinuxrain.com/articles/redshift-functionality-on-fedora-25-gno...
Thanks for the review. The extension seemed to work (tested it), I've included it in the article. Could you check it again? https://fedoramagazine.org/safe-eyes-redshift/

Hi Vikash, welcome to the Magazine mailing list and thanks for your help in contributing the RedShift article! I was looking through the meeting logs from Thursday and I didn't see this one mentioned. I'll try to take a look at this one later today once I'm home from work and get you some feedback (if not today, over the weekend).
Have you (or anyone else on list) tested + verified the Wayland fix? For something like this, we'll definitely want to make sure we publish this only if we can offer a workable solution for Wayland.
Thanks for your time and efforts writing the draft up!
Hi, Yes, I've tested the fix, and it worked. Looking forward to your feedback. Vikash
