You may have noticed a mini ruckus on the development list which lead to a FESCo decision being needed about the Firefox 57 update ...
Eventually the update will hit F26 (and perhaps F25 depending on timing) and it will be a breaking experience for many users.
I suggested on the devel list that an article on FM giving a heads up to users would be beneficial - of course having made the suggest I'm willing to write it ;)
Since this is going to be a breaking experience and major change for our users, outside of the usual release scope, I think it important we provide early information in the magazine. I'll be providing a COPR tracking FF57 until it eventually hits stable as well that users can make use of to provide feedback.
How does everyone here feel about this?

I had been corresponding with Martin and others elsewhere about this very topic. James and Martin, we would really like to see a Magazine article to give users a heads-up about what to expect, available alternatives, and best practices to deal with extension breakage. Thanks for your interest and help.

It's funny how timing can go :)
I'm putting together a draft now ... it'll probably take a few days and then I'll put up a preview link for comments.

Okay I have a draft ready for review and comments.
The public preview link is: https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=19026&preview=1&_ppp=14710ffd1f
The COPR is already in place ... I'll update the instructions bit on the COPR to point to the article when we push it live.
As for a featured image for this one, i think one of the generic ones we have in the library should be suitable: maybe this one?

Ordinarily I'd say yes... but as part of the symbolism surrounding the rather drastic change Firefox is making they have updated their logo for this release.
https://hacks.mozilla.org/2017/09/firefox-quantum-developer-edition-fastest-...
At least I think that is not just the developer logo... I'm at lunch away from my laptop at present so I can't check what the current logo is.
Anyone able to quickly confirm the beta logo?
Given the branding of quantum it might be useful to use the developer logo anyway just to emphasise that this is not an ordinary Firefox update...
https://hacks.mozilla.org/2017/09/firefox-quantum-developer-edition-fastest-...
The new logos are here:
http://design.firefox.com/photon/visuals/product-identity-assets.html
I'm not sure if is official, but the developers logo match with the officially announced, so I'm guessing we can trust that the info is current.

Ah so the colouring isn't changing but the aesthetic of the visual is.
We should update our media library and use the standard horizontal lockup provided... or the updated release logo inky with our own blurb.
We should not use the old logo for this article.

Back at my desk...
Can confirm the logo in the F27 FF57 packages is indeed
http://design.firefox.com/photon/images/product-identity-assets/firefox.png
So yeah we really should update our assets and use that one rather than the older one.
