Melaka Chief Minister in FUDCon KL
by Izhar Firdaus
Hi All.
RH is willing to deal with protocol stuff if needed (but would be
cooler if he can simply come over like the mosti minister in last
foss.my).
Melaka have been a strong supporter of FOSS and if the CM is really
interested to come all the way from Melaka, I don't see why not.
/me added this to tonight's meeting agenda

We met with the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Melaka today and he
expressed keen interest to keynote FUDcon.
Izhar, please confirm that this is OK. I believe his presence will give
FUDcon the boost. Also, he is working with us to have an event at the end of
April to address Open Source with 8 universities in Melaka. He has agreed to
use this to drum up support for FUDcon.

Thank you.

Izhar,
Thank you.
The suggestion came from the CM himself. He wants to attract talents to
Melaka as well as drive Melaka users to FUDcon (he suggested doing an event
with 8 universities in Melaka on Open Source and to drive the students to
FUDcon. (Does Fedora.MY want to be there?))
We are crafting the formal invitation. Will work on his keynote topic. I
believe he is cool as he attend jemputan and kenduri with the Rakyat.

Hi
As topic above, I would like to drop the fliers of FudCON to Webcamp meetup
this wednesday, and at the same time send to the organizer of Hack Weekend
as well.
Can it be ready by today or tomorrow?
Thanks

Invitation letter for contributors who are attending from India/Sri Lanka/Bangladesh
by Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail
Hi Harish.
>From last night meeting, an issue was raised regarding the invitation
letter. While visitors from the countries are allowed to enter
Malaysia without referral for 30 days, the process of applying visa
will be more difficult than applying with referral. Therefore it would
be beneficial for us to send them an invitation letter.
Could we get RH to provide it?. Thanks!.

Speaker Pickup
by Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail
Hi All,
I just organized the flight information of those who got approved from
last night's approval meeting. Apparently, plenty of them are arriving
at sometime past midnight, which means, they will need help in picking
them up from the airport.
So I guess we'll need to figure out pickup :-)

Member blog section in fedora.my site
by Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail
In one of inigo's client project, theres one client news system that
interest me, they have Story and Member Story where both are blog-like
contents, with something extra in Member Story - it is a copy of
another blog post / article with information of original author and
original site.
I'm thinking of having similar facility in Fedora Malaysia blog
system, so that we can repost any good blog posts from local
community.
What you guys think? Or should we just go for a Planet implementation
instead ? or not at all?
Take note that anybody who are logged in the fedora.my site are
allowed to post a blog post, just submit it for publication afterward
and the admins will review it before it appears to public.

Next FUDCon KL Planning Meeting & Funding Approval
by Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail
Hi All,
This is an early reminder for the next fudcon kl planning meeting in
#fudcon-planning as this also involve the funding approval.
Meeting time: Thursday, 29th March 2012, 14:01UTC (date -d
'2012-03-29 14:01:00 UTC')
Meeting agenda:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:KualaLumpur_2012/Meeting:2012-03-29
The funding approval process will follow a similar format which we
used in last approval meeting (or can someone can suggest a more
efficient & fair format?)
* we will go through all applicants, and each applicants will have to
state his existing contributions, and what they wish to contribute +
achieve in fudconkl and answer any questions which might arise (those
who have done this in previous meeting are exempted, unless theres
questions we need to ask)
* decision will be done by the FPL and organizing team after we have
gone through all applicants.
Reminder: Funding requests is still open until 27th March 2012. So you
still have chance to apply.
