In the past, I've always compiled my own kernel from vanilla source at
kernel.org. Things felt snappier (psychosomatic or otherwise) on my own
kernel. Over that past 2 years though, the thought of tweaking a kernel
for 2 to 3 days to get things just right just doesn't seem to get me
"ON" anymore. Just a quick question to you guys out there, are there any
tangible performance boosts from going that route again? A 5% boost or
more may be a justifiable gain.
