(i'm sending this thread to the fedora-my mailing list and cc'ing both of you, I hope you've subscribed to the ML by now)
Hi,
2009/3/16 ahmad shaiful amiruddin ahmadshaiful@gmail.com:
Ok. thank you so much for your email. My name is Ahmad Shaiful Amiruddin b. Taher. I am from Marang Terengganu. A first year student pursuing a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering in Multimedia University Cyberjaya Campus. I run fedora core 8 on my macbook. I shall say that I do not have any experience in this thing but I do want to do it.
thats the spirit .. there will be lots of stuff ahead of us, so I hope you are ready for the challenges :D
Do read these #fedora-classroom log a not so long ago .. it would be useful for a start
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Training_and_Tips_for_Fedora_Ambassadors_Clas...)
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Trademarks_Classroom_(20090307)
an ambassador primary task would be, as you might can guess, to promote, promote, and promote Fedora to the world and to become the fedora figure in the community you are in (in this case, your university). You does necessarily need to know the highly technical stuff , but nonetheless, its still a useful to know some.
keep yourself updated with what happening in the Fedora community. Subscribe to the fedora-devel ( https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list ), fedora-announce ( https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-announce-list ) and the fedora planet ( http://planet.fedoraproject.org ) and regularly read them for updates.
upgrade your machine to fedora10 .. or if you are adventurous, to fedora11 alpha / rawhide .. and familiarize yourself with their highlighted features so that you can promote fedora and answer user questions better :)
if you have problems, do ask at the mailing list ..
tq

Hi,
both of you responded that you are interested to be a fedora campus ambassador for your university. first, may i know bit more about y'all? .. name, and from which uni ? ..
the program have not been kickstarted yet, so if y'all join now, you will be the first group , so, stuff might be pretty rough considering its a fully voluntary initiative and theres no real guidelines or step by step instructions for this .. lots of work need to be done :)
for a start, grab yourself a fedora account at https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts .. then, read and follow this instructions on how to join the ambassador team at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/Join .. dont forget to introduce yourself to the community :) .. remember Fedora is one big family ..
if you have a blog related to Fedora or FOSS, consider aggregating it in the Fedora planet , and report stuff that you've done at the blog ..
also, join the fedora malaysia mailing list, ideally, our discussions should be done there for transparency and archival purposes .. the mailing list can be subscribed here : https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-my-list
Hi,
I'm wondering if y'all have followed my previous instructions ..
tq
