Red Hat's Fedora 9 debuts with new features

The Windows operating system can be used to load Fedora 9 onto the thumb drive, then the drive can be used to reboot the Windows machine and run Fedora 9." Rahul

Virtual FUDcon Proposal

*Hello to everyone who cares about Fedora!!!* I come to you with a proposal about how a "Virtual FUDcon" could be set up on a web site... When a REAL Convention is happening in a city, a virtual extension takes place as well. On my Linux Blog (http://linuxglobe.wordpress.com,) there is a example of what I will describe is shown, made in GIMP. A web site is set up with a live video feed, archived video links, a ticker for alerts, and IRC-style chat rooms called "booths." Please consider using this "Virtual Convention" concept for FUDcon 2009 or any other Convention/Event!!! *Sincerely, Mark McLaughlin*

LINdependence 2008 - no Fedora?

Hi, I heard about LINdependence 2008 on a podcast [1] and now lots of distributions are jumping in to help out but there was no mention of Fedora. Are there any Ambassadors that are willing to help in this project? It has to be someone who is closer to the location (Felton, California) of someone willing to travel a bit. If I get the travel expenses I'll go :) But it is obviously better that someone local goes there. Installation options

Hi Guys, Recently one of my friend demonstrated the New Ubuntu (8) Installation feature for Windoz people, who wants to switch to GNU/Linux, as most people scared of installing GNU/Linux on there Win Box as a dual boot. The Ubuntu installer was started from Windoz env, and after 1st reboot it took the normal installation procedure. But there is no grub, windoz manage it. Still I didn't upgraded my F8 box with F9, so not sure F9 also available the same feature. Regards, Danishka

Another idea would be to install public kiosks in school or Starbucks where users can boot off their own Linux OS with all the familiar applications on a thumbdrive. Unfortunately, large footprint apps like OpenOffice and multi-language support, are off limits to this approach, but users can still combine small apps like AbitWord, email, calender & browser without taking too much memory.
