Can't get off email distribution

All, I apologize right off the bat if this is not the appropriate way to communicate this request or the right address to send this to. But, I have been trying to drop out of the email distribution list for the Fedora Ambassadors and any other email distributions I was signed up for. I'd like to continue, but I am just too flooded with emails that are work related or otherwise, and I need to recuse myself from these distribution lists. However, I have a problem. I logged into the admin area and couldn't see anywhere to unsubscribe myself. I did find a link to make myself "Inactive." As soon as I did this and saved changes, it forced me to log out and I couldn't log back in. But, the problem is that I'm still receiving the emails. Can someone please help??? Thank you! Fedora Contributor Stories

At FUDCon, one of the things that I loved was hearing peoples' stories of how they got involved with Fedora. Could it be a good marketing campaign (aiming to attract new contributors) to collect and publish these somewhere? Maybe this could somehow be related to Mairin's "I am Fedora" videos as well. By the way, does the marketing team usually work on specific campaigns (with specific goals and targets)? Would this be a good way to organize marketing work better? What do you think? Ricky

I want everyone who has Small Business Concerns to go to my blog for my ideas and then GOOGLE Small Business with Red Hat. Next, I just read in linuxtoday.com, that Windoze XP has expired, and I want to thank Microsoft for allowing Fedora and RHEL to EXPAND!!! Where can one discuss Small Business Matters as far as either making Fedora more Small Business Friendly OR going the route I will lay out for a "Red Hat Prosumer Linux?" It is important to address such matters if not here then a site devoted to Small Business. Any word on Fedora 10, btw? Fedora 9 kernel configuration

Hello, My name is Adrian Joian and I'm a fedora ambassador [1] for the Romanian community. This is my first time that I'm addressing the marketing list so please be patient with me. I plan to write an article that will speak about Fedora 9 on laptops on our local site [2]. My question is way the 2.6.25.6-55.fc9.i686 kernel is not compiled whit the following options, as they have big impact on laptop "cpu sleep" : CONFIG_HPET_TIMER CONFIG_NO_HZ CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND Are this values replaced by new ones, if yes what are the new options, and forgive my lack of knowledge? Do the above values cause some problems, if yes where can I find the bug reports, again and forgive my lack of knowledge ? Thank you very much for your time. Linux Graphics, a Tale of Three Drivers

Hi, https://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/Linux_Graphics_Essay "Finally, setting aside the philosophical issues, economically it's obvious from this data that binary drivers don't make sense: Nvidia isn't in the list of top oops causers as part of some grand strategy to make itself (and Linux) look bad. It's there because the cost of doing the QA and continuous engineering to support the changing interfaces and to detect and correct these problems outweighs the revenue it can bring in from the Linux market. In essence this is because binary drivers totally negate the shared support and maintenance burden which is what makes Open Source so compelling. Additionally, there is also a drag effect these binary drivers have on the rest of the ecosystem: for instance, Fedora was under enormous pressure not to release Fedora 9 until there was a solution that allowed it to run with the Nvidia binary driver (Fedora chose to ship with a pre-release of the X windows system which Nvidia refused to support and because the driver was binary Fedora couldn't simply fix the problems and ship anyway). Red Hat Prosumer Linux Proposal Announcement

I'm sorry I couldn't be at FUDcon this year, I wish there was a virtual extension of it, however. I look forward to all the news from it so I can put something on my blog. I want to know the latest on Fedora 10! In the meantime, I am getting ready to compose a second proposal, and I want to send it to Red Hat, can someone give me an address I can send it to? The idea is a "step up" from Fedora but a "lite" version of RHEL for Small Businesses or Homes with advanced needs. I call this OS : "Red Hat Prosumer Linux," perhaps this would be the consumer linux everyone would love to have. The best of both worlds, the multimedia, fun, and community of Fedora with some of the advanced features that RHEL offers with limited tech support for a year. Unlike Red Hat Linux which was sold on store shelves, this OS would only be available at online Linux vendor sites as well as redhat.com. The software would be sold from $30 to $50. It would also be offered as a 30 day trialware, if anyone wants to keep it, they purchase the registration code for $50. We have repeatedly found them to be detrimental to Linux users, businesses, and the greater Linux ecosystem. Such modules negate the openness, stability, flexibility, and maintainability of the Linux development model and shut their users off from the expertise of the Linux community. Vendors that provide closed-source kernel modules force their customers to give up key Linux advantages or choose new vendors.
