Fedora 12 'Constantine' has been released
By Rynard Moore
The release of Fedora 12 will mark the fourth major operating system
update this fall. Codenamed 'Constantine' and like the three previous
OS releases, Windows 7, Ubuntu 9.10 openSUSE 11.2, the Linux based
Fedora 12 comes packed with a variety of improvements and new features.

'Continuing in the time-honored tradition set by the likes of Fedora
10 and Fedora 11, Fedora 12 (codenamed "Constantine"). With this
release comes improvements in the realms of webcam support, video
codec, audio, security and power management, as well as "bluetooth on
demand" and some virtualization enhancements. The only thing absent
for the devout Linux fan? A fun alliteration like Karmic Koala. Missed
opportunity, if you ask us.'

Fedora 12 debuts after Halloween slippage
November trick or treat
By Timothy Prickett Morgan
Fedora 12 made its official debut today, after a two-week slippage in
its release schedule.
Codenamed "Constantine," the new RedHat community Linux distro includes
<http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/10/20/fedora_12_beta_1_review/> power
management features pulled from RHEL 5, improved support for netbooks,
and a much-improved NetworkManager. The latter provides a graphical
display of the WiFi networks in range and a browser plug-in for the
PackageKit application installation program that allows for the
installation of applications onto Fedora through HTML tags.

Building On-Ramps on the Fedora 12 Highway
By Bruce Byfield
"It's all about building on-ramps," says Paul W. Frields, the Fedora
Project Leader. “As a community, we tend to be oriented towards getting
people involved in the open source process, rather than towards getting
everyone to switch from whatever they're using now."
It's an orientation that Frields sees as central to the GNU/Linux
distribution's rapid growth over the last five years, as well as the
focus in the new Fedora 12 release.
