F11 Announcement
by Rafael Gomes
Hi Guys,
I am from Brazil and I am thinking about an improvement to our Announcement
of new version.
What do all you thing if we separate the new features for groups of interest?
Same as the Announcement of Gnome. Take a look:
http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.26/index.html.en#rnusers
IMO It is better than we have now.
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I am learning yet.

Public remote desktop server.
by mhydra
Hello,
I am big fan of Fedora. I tried to help Fedora several times before but my
attempts were not very successful. This time, I have an idea how to
contribute in a different way. I have prepared a remote desktop server with
additional features available for all users interested in try Fedora and
GNU/Linux. Also, I wrote a client application capable to connect to this
server. Please, have a look at:
http://spreadfedora.org/sf/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=65&I...
This is a remote desktop server running Fedora 10 and GNOME. So, it is very
useful for demonstration purposes.

Distribution.
by Hlompho Mota
Time's are cahnging and the trend in the use of computers is also changing.
Though with this in mind, I believe that the project has to ride along the
waves of change.
The Idea behind this is that I have been an advocate of Fedora Before I even
joined the project. Though now I am I hope 2 become a positive flow of
energy into the project. I whould like to establish what would be a home for
not only Linux, but a home for Fedora in Lesotho.
With this all said and done, I hope that I could get some help in developing
interest amoung computer enthusias about the project so that they contribute
to smoething much bigger and meaningfull. Along with there is a ptoject I
will hope Fedora will help me develop.

Testing Out The Nouveau Driver On Fedora 11
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=NzE3OA
"With the forthcoming release of Fedora 11, Red Hat has made the bold
(but wise) decision of replacing xf86-video-nv as the default
open-source NVIDIA driver with the Nouveau driver instead."
"Besides a clean, beautiful boot experience with Plymouth when using
kernel mode-setting, VT switching is dramatically faster and runs at the
same resolution as the running X Server. "
"Kudos to all of the Nouveau developers and to Red Hat for taking this
stand in enabling it by default. Hopefully we will see other Linux
desktop distributions make the switch from xf86-video-nv to Nouveau."

Good Evening,
I was a bit disappointed to read the interview with Jim Whitehurst on
InfoWorld where he talked about (Red Hat's) Linux desktop's relevance.
On the one hand I agree with him that desktops will move more and more
to hosted applications or virtual frameworks. But besides that Red Hat
already offers a gread desktop product with a large userbase: Fedora.
Also web based components will be more and more integrated into
traditional desktop products. Please remember that there are still a
lot of people out there using old versions of Windows, too. These also
want to take part in the online future. So there will be backports and
browser plugins.
And note: Fedora does offer all of that great features, today.
But as InfoWorld is a traditionally business-oriented netmag the focus
was on 'making money with Linux desktops' I can somewhat understand
his position. You can earn more money with services and solutions. I
am just disappointed that it has not been clearly stated that the best
way to keep up on that road is to use free components and to improve
the (free) Linux desktop experience.
Best Regards
Marcus

Hi Marcus, I am confused.
It reads like your saying Fedora "is" Redhat. I thought it was a seperate distribution much like CentOS is seperate.
