Self-Introduction: ruigo
by Rui Gouveia
Hi, my name is Rui Gouveia and I live in Porto/Portugal. My Fedora
Account System (FAS) <https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts> username
is ruigo, and my IRC <http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/IRC> nick is ruigo.
I learned about the Fedora Marketing team through Nelson, and am
interested in joining because I want to do more and meet other realities.
I've worked in open source and/or Free Software in the past. Some of the
projects I've worked on, or communities I've been involved with, include:
Fedora translation for pt_PT since Fedora 10. I'm one of the
co-coordinators.
This is the first Marketing project I have worked on!
My skills, which I hope to utilize in Fedora Marketing, include:
* (Marketing Skills) - None. sorry!
* (Other Skills) - sysadmin.
When I'm not working on Fedora, I am working in Oporto City Hall or
spreading the name of Fedora in a secondary school.
A couple of goals I have for the Fedora Project are increase the user
base in this city and recruit help for Fedora projects.
Please help me get started!
Thanks for your time.

Rui Gouveia
by Nelson Marques
Dear all,
Rui Gouveia is the leader of Fedora trans_PT team. I've previously sent
an email stimulating people to join the Marketing, as Marketing through
trans_PT can deploy a higher number of localized contents aimed for
Portuguese people living in Portugal and outside.
Some documents that are worked on this list, like One Page Release Notes
are of strategical importance in my opinion to localized communities, if
those are not translated through the Docs teams, then we believe he can
help Fedora Marketing and Ambassadors by providing translations of those
documents that we believe to be strategical in terms of gathering a
higher user base locally.
Robyn, Paul, David,
Anyone can sponsor his entrance on this list so Fedora Marketing can be
munitioned with extra help in content translation?
As you can notice on Transifex statistics, his team, considering the
number has achieved very good results. I believe his participation would
be a valuable asset in document production for Portuguese pt_PT.

"Beta" One-page release notes - on deliverables / schedule
by Robyn Bergeron
Everyone -
You've all probably seen the deliverable item of "Beta One-Page
release notes" (seen here on the always-awesome F13 schedule,
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-13/f-13-marketing-tasks.html
--- as well as in Trac at
https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/ticket/92).
My feeling on this is that it is somewhat confusing wording. Is it one
page release notes for the Beta release? Is it a final version of the
first cut of the Real one page release notes?
I took it as the latter (basically - it was .8 of one page release
notes - Not one-page-release-notes to accompany the beta release). I
don't know if this is correct. If I'm wrong, correct me - otherwise,
I'd like to propose that we get rid of this deliverable "task" - since
the one page release notes are pretty much in beta / development from
the time we start until the time we definitively say we are done.
Thoughts?

2010-05-11 meeting notes
by Mel Chua
Nicely efficient meeting, good discussion on microblogging at the end. w00t!
I wanted to echo my comment from the meeting's end. I feel like we're so
much more on the ball for F13 than last release - we've really matured
and grown in capacity and ability to manage marketing for a release, and
we're still learning - so a HUGE thank you and congratulations to
everybody! (Mmm, F13 is *almost* here. Yay!)

Community Distrowatch interview -- DUE 2010-05-15
by Paul W. Frields
Despite the "due date" in the subject line, this is completely
voluntary -- but hopefully a good opportunity for participation! :-)
We were contacted at our press(a)fp.o address by Jesse Smith from
Distrowatch, who is doing an article on Fedora 13 release. Often
interviews are by phone, or require a close to instantaneous response.
Since this one has a deadline that is several days away, it's a great
opportunity to bring the community together to work on the specific
marketing task of answering interview questions.
I've posted the questions here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Distrowatch_interview_questions_2010-05-15
I've answered the first question both to provide a template so people
know how to use the markup, and also to give an idea of the expected
tone of the answers -- explanatory, cordial, and positive. I
encourage the Marketing team to help out with the rest of the answers,
and I'll help with the copy editing and polish before submission.
The deadline for this task is 2010-05-15.

(no subject)
by Nelson Marques
Dear all,
I'm going underground for some time due to lack of time. I will report
this on a private level to Paul and Robyn as I've been called to
coordinate efforts on a national level into something that later will be
in the benefit of all FOSS communities worldwide.
I will still be most likely attending to meetings and lurking around,
but I'm halting the FAD and everything else for the time necessary to
accomplish what I was mandated for in a national level.

Status of PPC
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi.
We have moved PPC to a secondary architecture in Fedora and made no
formal announcement about it so far. I am not sure whether we would
images at release time but it seems unlikely. Should we have a separate
announcement? If not, anyone wants to add a blurb to the Fedora 13
announcement at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_13_announcement
