[Fedora Magazine] Event Calendar
by Zacharias Mitzelos
Hey folks,
I have been trying since our meeting to find an event calendar for the
magazine so events (and meetings maybe?) to be shown on the magazine as
well, and help visitors find a Fedora Event easily.
I have enabled the one I think is best. Go ahead and take a look at it.
There is a nice widget on, where a list of upcoming events is shown. I
have created some events so you can have a taste of what it can be done.
When you press an event on the widget, it directs you to the calendar
page(fedoramagazine.org/calendar, where you can find all the events,
filter them by month/week/day/list and even choose specific categories
to be displayed (For example, if you are a user, you can untick the
Meetings category) Categories are divided by colors. We could also
categorize the events under regions.
Before I ended up with this one, I saw and tried many more, but most of
them are either not supported with version 3.6 we are using, or they
have bad feedbacks, or they don't seem nice on the magazine (no colors etc.)
I am waiting your opinions on that.
Regards,

Re: Fwd: Fedora Magazine Mailing list created
by Zacharias Mitzelos
Hey Joe,
Your point is right, but most of the discussions (from bugs to many other issues) were going through emails sent to the magazine's stuff, because they were the only ones who could do something about the specific issue..(and not the rest of the marketing team). But of course the Marketing team was notified if a new feature was going to be added or any other major changes regarding the magazine.
And also byfollowing the default is open method, that's why we decided to make a mailing list on our own, to discuss about any issues on the magazine with all the users. And we don't limit the discussions to bugs on the magazine only, but to bring all discussions regarding the magazine on this list. And we also want our visitors (and developers ofc) to communicate with us (stuff) in a way. And not having them contacting the marketing list ;)
I don't think that making this list is "a too much". And needless to say that any major changes on the magazine will be forwarded on the marketing list so everyone can comment(eg. Fedora calendar). We don't want to separate the magazine from the marketing team. ;)
PS: the idea was discussed on our weekly meeting and no one disagreed with that.
Kind Regards,
Zacharias

Oh, good, another mailing list for which to sign up. ;-) My "mailing
list reminder day" just got a little brighter...
(I really wonder whether we needed a separate list for magazine
discussions - I haven't noticed the marketing list traffic being so
heavy that it was necessary to separate them out, and this means that
people who sign up for marketing will miss out on a chunk of
marketing-related discussions.)
Best,
jzb

Show up at meetings and on the mailing list, accept tasks and complete
them. When I look around and see that you are "doing stuff" when checking
out the group requests I will approve it. If no one "just does it" before
that.

Introduction.
by Gabriele Trombini
Hello,
I'm Gabriele Trombini (FAS mailga) and I'm an Italian Ambassador for a couple of years.
I would love to join to marketing team as well because I like making strategies in order to propose Fedora and in order to give to Ambassadors time and (maybe) tools for the event schedule they have to do.
I'm writing the Italian webmagazine "Folio" on which I explain various views of our distribution, from software to events.
I'm also a staff member of the websites "Fedoraonline.it" and in the past I wrote a four-hands book dedicated to the entry-level users with my friend Robyduck.
I saw the mkt wikipage, and I think I can help your group.
Hope you would consider this joining request.
See you.

Monday's meeting
by Ruth Suehle
I won't be in town for Monday's meeting, but please do go ahead and hold it. I know there were people who wanted to talk about the magazine and some other things. I look forward to reading the minutes!
