Hi,
Welcome. Thanks for the offer on the SWOT. We currently already have a
webpage on Fedora's wiki. We should start filling it in. I'm going to
ignore the matrix for now and focus mainly on the macro environmental
issues. This is by far the most complex step in my opinion, as covering
this topics on a worldwide view is going to be stressful. Things like
exportation laws are relevant (I know some apply to the US regarding
cryptographic software).
Once we have the matrix we can work together on a final report to
present Fedora (and eventually Red Hat since they use the same base and
I would assume it's also handy information for them). We can also offer
a challenge to the community, if someone else wants to work on the
report is also welcome, as we can approach for sure from different
points of view.
In the next days I'm going to start filling some less detailed info on
the wiki and working it out.
Regarding the SWOT itself, I would advice and also appoint my
availability to re-work it after every release and file the old version
for later consult and cross information on the evolution of Fedora
according to it.
Once more welcome, and I look forward to work with you (and everyone
else) on this.
Nelson.

Echo Paul-Mark - welcome, Stefano! I've added you to the FAS
group for
Marketing.
We'd love to hear your thoughts on the things the Marketing
team is
doing, or things we should be doing (newcomers frequently
start their
own projects if they see an opportunity to fill a gap - for
instance,
Ryan started with fedora-tour, and Nelson just started with a
SWOT
analysis).
Right now we're working on Marketing deliverables for F13. The
two
ongoing ones:
Release slogan

Talking points

You might also be interested in participating (probably
remotely - we'll
all be on IRC) in the Marketing FAD, which is coming up soon.
A FAD is a
Fedora Activity Day, where we gather together and have a
multi-day
hackfest just on Marketing... this is our first one, and it's
looking to
be a lot of fun.

Finally, do come by the #fedora-mktg IRC channel and say hello
sometime!
Instructions on how to connect are at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/IRC, but I personally find the
easiest
way to get started with IRC for the first time is using
webchat -
there's a screenshot on how to do that at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing_meetings#Meeting_details.
Welcome again, and looking forward to hearing your ideas -
what sorts of
things do you want to work on?
