I really like the first banner on the post -- I think the background would have a good focus and contrast for the article. :) I think the placement of the fonts is a little bit too small though. Which font did you use? I think a little bit of playing around with sizing and placement might be good.
Could you send the original image that you used too? That way we can add it to the open source repository of images we used for featured images on the Magazine.

Font is Grand Hotel, as we agreed. I can play a bit with size and placement, no probs. I'll send the original photo when I reach a WiFi, it's kinda big.

Justin:
I sent you two links to the original images. They're uploaded in Drive. Tell me if it's okay this way or should I do something else.

Thanks, Sylvia -- received! I will share this with Paul and Ryan so they can add it to the Pagure repo.

Great! So... This is the banner or do I need to make another one?

Sylvia, we also need to know the source for the original image. Did you take this photograph yourself? Or is this from some other source?
Paul

No, I didn't take it myself. Let me look up and I send you the source.

This is the source of my photo: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/02/imbolc-2015_n_6594060.html

Sadly, I found the source of this picture (that Huffington Post used), and it falls under a license that will make it difficult to use. Flipping through it, it would cost $316 to use that photo for one year in an online editorial for less than 50,000 viewers.

Unfortunately, I think we'll have to find a different image to use than this one… :( Perhaps we can whip up a banner in Inkscape to highlight some of the programs, like the email client article.

Alright. Tell me what you decide. If I make another banner or what.
For future reference, it's safe only to use source images with a proper license that allows reuse (both modification and commercial reuse). Examples of such licenses include Creative Commons licenses:
CC-0 CC-BY CC-BY-SA
This isn't an exhaustive list. I usually find images on e.g. Flickr by using search options that allow modification and commercial reuse.
Okay. I understand, Justin. But should I make a banner or someone else will make it?
Cheers, Sylvia
