Hello there,
Since Frederik posts, before, Ill take this example.
First I congratulate Thomas Chung, he deserved to be vice president. At the same time, I would like to cancel my 80 DVDs for MLUG which I ordered , since I already have some left.
The Event is a mere simple LUG meeting in Mauritius, but It will be my first meeting as a Fedora Ambassador.
So both my girlfriend and I seized the opportunity to talk about the OpenSource projects: she: Kubuntu since she is in the German Kubuntu team and I about the Fedora Project.
However, Ill be flying to Mauritius with the DVDs. I dont want to get into problems with the customs, is there something similar to this http://www.ubuntu.com/include/docs/ShipItGenericCustomsLetter.pdf ?
If I can have a Fedora sample of it before 9 of July it will be cool :)
Concerning my presentation, Ill rather stress on * How and why people contribute to Fedora Project * Fedora Projects * Kadischi
Sorry for not being able to report this before during ambassadors meetings. Reason: Exams.
Yet I think Its time to strike Kadischi off from the Ambassador/Schedule. Its not part of marketing :)
About Kadischi, things start to shake up in its Mailing List :)
Cheers, Chitlesh Goorah

Ok. it's been removed.

I hear good thing about it. Keep up the good work!

We do not have such a letter, but I guess I could produce one for you--since I'm here at the "source" of it all :)
Give me a few and I'll be back to you. a

Would be good to standardise a format and have a editable format and a PDF file or so in the wiki.

+1 It would be much better.
I don't know about the editable format--the whole "beauty" and strength of this letter is that it will have a live Red Hatter behind it, and that the customs folks will be able to get in touch with this person if they have questions.
If we would have this letter editable, we could not guarantee that it would always be edited and used properly. Even though I have no doubt about the good intentions of the people on this list, I would not trust that much to the rest of the world, who all could easily download the letter off of our wiki.
Cheers, a

What would be nice is that on the FAMSCo member possesses the editable format and when someone requests for that letter, he/she enters the quantity and post it to list so that it remains transparent to everyone.
Here is a standard letter you can use ONLY to import original Fedora DVDs.
DO NOT modify it in any way, or use with anything else than Fedora DVDs which are intended for free distribution.
Each time you intend to use the letter, alert me, as I am the contact on the letter and will not help if I do not know you are using it.
Things I will need to know so I can confirm with the customs that all is legal: - Your name and email address (full legal name) - Country of export (where you are sending/transporting the media from) - Country of import (where the media is going) - Purpose of import (what do you need the DVDs/CDs for)
You MUST give the DVDs away for free. If you intend to collect money for them, you CANNOT use this letter!
Thanks, a

Hello there,
I have been asked by the Mauritian LUG members whether they can redistribute Fedora DVDs (unmodified) but with a sticker "This disc being brought to you by the Linux User Group of Mauritius http://www.linux.mu". http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ChitleshGoorah/MLUG?action=AttachFile&do=g...
Can we accept this ?
My opinion: This is a direct publicity of the LUG from the Fedora DVDs and should be asked to at least contribute for some time to the Fedora Project.
They have a Library of several distros which they distribute copies to everyone. Maybe they can join FedoraLibraries to push things forward since that FedoraLibraries is not so active.
What do you think and propose ?

As a Distribution and Vendors Program Lead in Distribution Project[1], I would says this is acceptable. You should also consider using existing art work.[2] [1] http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Distribution/Project [2] http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Artwork/CDArt Regards,

They have every right to do this, since they are providing Fedora unmodified. We can certainly ask them to contribute in whatever way we see fit, but regardless -- they don't need our permission in this case.
