As per ticket #219[1], I have updated the Fedora Python brochure to include more current information. The updates are almost all around content, I left the design elements pretty much alone.
I would like the group to examine the content and let me know if anything is wrong or missing. If I could get feedback to me by 1200 EDT (1600 UTC) Wednesday, March 30 (to allow for the upcoming US and EU holidays), that would be great.
The pdfs are attached; my apologies for not attaching these files to the ticket itself; there was a file size limit. Please let me know if posting them somewhere else will be helpful.
Peace, Brian

Looks Good!
Some Feedback:
- The "free software" in the first paragraph of panel #3 in the inner graphic should be capitalized - Where we have bullet points, perhaps we could use some kind of graphical element, instead of boring old dots? That heart, scaled down, could do nicely, or little python logos maybe? Just a though. - in the "outer" file, the "did you know" panel is a little wall-o-text-y. Can we fit line breaks between the bullets? - in the 'outer' file, maybe getting rid of the bullet points in the "Python Questions" and instead mirroring the type of formatting you used in "Get packages"? - putting a "$" in front of our "dnf" commands, and possibly adding "sudo" to the front of "dnf install" command? - Possibly intentional, but the yellow snake is overlapping the "did you know?" box in the bottom left corner. Perhaps we can make the blue snake overlap on the top right, or drop the yellow one below for consistency? - I would udpdate the Fedora loves python section with pyrasite https://github.com/lmacken/pyrasite, and Tahrir https://github.com/fedora-infra/tahrir

I've grown fond of prefacing privileged commands with ' ]# ' and unprivileged commands with ' ]$ '. Folks usually recognize the end of a $PS1, and you can't teach about sudo/su/polkit/etc every time.

I think everyone hit on the main points I saw. I do like the idea of updating the graphics style a bit as Máirín suggested.

Hi Brian,
Sorry that I missed you last night. Anyway, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to mention DevAssistant. It may not be specific to Python, but I do find it to be a helpful tool when starting new projects.
Let me know what you think.

From my experiences, DevAssistant has been a big draw item when introducing Fedora to new crowds of interested developers. +1 for making extra-special mention of it.

I'd like to open a design team ticket so we can work on updating the design elements. Do you have the source for your work that we can use?

Thanks all for the text updates! I just sent the SVG files to Máirín, and I can update the text after the design changes. Sound cool?

I made a design team ticket for it and came up with an initial design for it to match the python shirt: https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/434

Hm. I flagged this through, but it's probably better to upload the files to a Trac ticket for the design team, rather than sending to the list.
Best,
jzb
Except there is a file size limit on the Trac system (mentioned in the first message on this thread). Each file alone is too big.

Whoever has admin on the trac instance can up that value. (We had to do this on the design-team trac.) The default is tiny!

I've bumped up the file size limit.

I added this to the ticket, but figured I'd mention it as well --
ansible.cc is not correct -- should be replaced with ansible.com :)

Hi, I saw that Fedora had the new shiny brochure at PyCon NA. We'd like to have the same for EuroPython. Is there a final version? I suppose that the print version used for PyCon NA can't be used here in Europe because of different standards, can it?

Hi all,
Jiri reached out to me about this earlier, but I wanted to update the list publicly too. The best place to request different prints of the brochure will be by the Design Team in the Trac ticket:
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/434
They should be able to offer more specific advice and provide a copy for regional printing differences.
Thanks!
