Fedora Magazine Mockup

Hi folks,

The design team has come up with an updated mockup for Fedora Magazine:

Does this look along the lines of what you'll need? Anything missing, or
anything extraneous here? Any general feedback / improvement ideas?

Once we are set with the mockup we can implement it as a Wordpress theme.

I think maybe we can design a set of 4-5 generic art thingys that could 
be used if an article doesn't have corresponding artwork. Does that

It looks very nice, fits Fedora website design style very well, I'm ok
with that.

A few questions: 
- there are arrows on both big FUDCon one and the sleeve article - what's
use case for both? Could be too-multilevel-confusing but it's just my
observation.
- are we going to have some editors, etc. - so who's going to have access
and how the post are going to approved, edited, you know (so it's more
process than design).
- are we planning also for example monthly PDF/ebook edition? it's magazine,
design style is magazine like and I like this kind of digests I can read
on Kindle like the real magazine. For ebook, it should not be problem to
format it automatically, web to PDF usually does not look very well, but
with a good template, it should be definitely possible. I'm not experienced
in this, but I can help :)

I agree it could be confusing. We could drop the arrows on the one 
lower down on the page and just use that one for the leading front page 
story. The rotating banners up top i think could show the leading 
stories for other sections so you can jump to them (e.g., development /

Yep, absolutely, and this can all be supported by WordPress.

I think this is a definite possibility but we should focus on getting 
the website up and running first. It depends on what this team 
(marketing) wants to do as a group I think.

I agree with you and Reznick. Rotating banners in two places feels a little
cluttered/Vegas slot machine. I like the idea of having the top banner show
the leading or sticky story for each section. However, is there a way to
then exclude or use a different image so that the rotating banner section
story and leading front page story aren't the same at the same time? Or is
that not really a problem?

One other thought -- could the body text font size be increased? A problem
I have with opensource.com is it makes me feel like I'm 80 even when I have
my glasses on and I end up zooming in on pages. However, this definitely
isn't an issue that should hold up launching the website.

I think it can be coded such that they don't ever display the same feature.
