Hi all,
After too long of a time, I finally exported the interview with Jonathan Dieter into a Magazine draft, "Fedora teaches future makers in school". If you have a moment, please take some time to review this draft (my biggest concern for this is formatting for the interview).

Thanks all!
Small Thing: The title should be capitalized properly: "Fedora Teaches Future Makers in School"
I only had time to give it a brief scan, but everything else looked pretty good.

Hi! Why are separated "children, young adults and students" as if students were another age? Shouldn't be "professors and students, either children, teens or young adults"? Or something like that?
Cheers, Sylvia

Hey Sylvia, good catch. That does sound a little bit weird. I edited in your suggestion since that sounds nicer. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Brian, thanks for the feedback. Usually for styling in the articles on the Magazine, we only capitalize proper nouns. I'm sure there's a rule in journalism about what is actually appropriate, but this is the format we generally follow on the Magazine. Although, this article title does come off a little bit "newsier" so maybe it would make more sense. Not a bad idea to clarify this for this and future articles in our meeting today.

Thanks for the feedback! I have some feedback from jdieter to incorporate soon, and once it's in, I think this will be ready to publish.

Hey don't mind i wanted a small help is there any style guide or any great guidelines. That can be followed normally when writing articles.

Hi Dilip, you can find more information on these two pages. Let us know if you have questions about getting started with writing for the Magazine!

I've been thinking about doing that, but general guidelines for good writing apply universally. Strunk and White is a good place to start. Here are some of my observations where we can improve writing in the Magazine:
* Avoid passive voice, which unnecessarily lengthens sentences and is harder to read.
NOT AS GOOD: A new release of the Firefox package was made by the maintainers last week. BETTER: Maintainers made a new Firefox release last week.
* Avoid gerunds -- words that end with "-ing." They are often signs of a weak or passive voice, and they decrease readability. Reformulate the sentence.
NOT AS GOOD: The resolution is aiming to decrease the time between security updates. BETTER: The resolution aims to decrease the time between security updates.
* Shorter sentences are easier to read. Avoid long compound sentences where possible.
* Shorter words are easier to read. Avoid big words where a smaller one is just as effective.
* Brevity is great, but clarity is fabulous.
As far as I know there's no rule to capitalising titles or headlines. To me should be Fedora and nothing else. It's confusing capitilising everything. Remember other languages don't capitalise all words but certain very specific ones (like German) or only names and first word after dot (like Spanish). Let's try to make as wide as possible.
Besides that, I think we could make other articles on the same line. This one is very nice but doesn't highlight the benefits from the student/professor point of view. The interviewed man says himself that they chose Fedora because of IT reasons not educational ones. So maybe other posts showing, let's say, educational tools or interesting programs for students / professors / teachers (of any level and age) would be awesome. My thought.
Cheers, Sylvia

Actually, our style default for the Magazine is sentence case, to avoid arguments about title casing which differ by nationality.
I only had time to give it a brief scan, but everything else looked pretty good.
Agreed! I made some minor corrections and style edits, but it was all awesome. I'd love to see this go out during the upcoming schedule.

Thanks for taking the time to review! We have Matt's HomeBank article scheduled for tomorrow, and I told Jonathan we could probably aim on getting it out Monday. Shooting for a Monday publication date sounds like a good plan to me if we're all set.
The last thing I think this article needs is a featured image. We could also use one of the provided pictures (all the pictures I have uploaded are in the Media Gallery on the Magazine).
