Hi Michel,
it seems you are new to this list and so I would like to repeat my hint
that a lot of medical software is just packaged in Debian and you might
be able to steal some code from there. You can probably get the best
overview about what is packaged from the Debian Med tasks page[1]. Each
entry has a link to VCS where the packaging code is managed.

We do also have some stuff here but this was a bit blocked by non-free
Sun/Oracle code (imageio). You can find some relevant discussion in
the list archive of Debian Med Mailing list[2].
