Just came across a nice listing of free/open source medical software.
Since there was a question if GNUmed was usable for vets here are two entries
for vets.

The first one (Animal Shelter), I made a how to in Greek
(
http://forum.greeklug.gr/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=38). I started to
translate the first one in Greek.
There's another one called EVETTE. I made also a how to in Greek
(
http://forum.greeklug.gr/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=39).
Both are in debian.
I think there are packages for Fedora.
Regarding where you can find them, just click on the links inside the posts.
