As always, minutes and IRC transcript available on the wiki at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Meetings/20131014
Next meeting is scheduled for 2013-10-21 at 1500 UTC in #fedora-meeting.
If you have topics you think we should bring up at the meeting, please
add them to the Wiki page at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Meetings/20131021 . Thanks!
TOPIC: Previous meeting follow-up
=======================================================================
* "adamw to co-ordinate with anaconda team to get a new anaconda
build done and roll TC2" - this was done, TC2 went ahead and
by meeting time we were on TC3/TC4
* "tflink and handsome_pirate to write up detailed proposals for
projects to be worked on in a possible longer f21 schedule and
post / link to them in the trac ticket" - tflink wrote up his
proposal[1] and submitted it to FESCo; viking-ice floated his
on anaconda-devel-list but had little response from
developers. tflink's proposal was viewed favourably by FESCo
and it appears[2] there will be at least some extension of the
F21 schedule in response to it and other considerations: F21
release no earlier than August 2014
TOPIC: Fedora 20 Beta status
=======================================================================
* TC2 was built and quite comprehensively tested, gave us a
good overview of current status
* TC3 was built but the DVD compose failed as the attempt to
remove gimp-help subpackages to save space[3] caused compose
problems.[4] TC4 was immediately built with the gimp-help
subpackage removal reverted to ensure a successful compose,
so TC4's DVD image is over-size, but it is otherwise fully
testable, and TC3 is a dead letter
* TC4 should work on the Beaglebone Black and ought to be
tested on it
* We agreed that in principle we would support a freeze
exception proposal for GNOME 3.10.1 to land just after Beta
freeze
TOPIC: Test Day result tracking
=======================================================================
* jskladan wrote a webapp for tracking Test Day results[5],
documented here[6]
* We agreed that the Test Day SOP[7] should be updated to
recommend use of the webapp for tracking Test Day results
(only), with the results to be copied into the Test Day wiki
page soon after the event ends (so as not to rely on the app
as a long term data store)
TOPIC: Open floor
=======================================================================
N/A
Action items
=======================================================================
* roshi will update the Test Day SOP as agreed (encourage use
of webapp for tracking test day results)

Meeting summary
---------------
* Roll Call (tflink, 16:01:25)
* Introduction (tflink, 16:05:45)
* Our purpose in this meeting is to review proposed blocker and
nice-to-have bugs and decide whether to accept them, and to monitor
the progress of fixing existing accepted blocker and freeze
exception bugs. (tflink, 16:05:54)
* We'll be following the process outlined at: (tflink, 16:06:00)
* LINK: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_Blocker_Bug_Meeting
(tflink, 16:06:00)
* The bugs up for review today are available at: (tflink, 16:06:05)
* LINK: http://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/current (tflink,
16:06:05)
* The criteria for release blocking bugs can be found at: (tflink,
16:06:12)
* LINK: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_20_Beta_Release_Criteria
(tflink, 16:06:12)
* Up for review today, we have: (tflink, 16:06:17)
* 6 Proposed Blockers (tflink, 16:06:26)
* 12 Accepted Blockers (tflink, 16:06:26)
* 2 Proposed Freeze Exceptions (tflink, 16:06:26)
* 5 Accepted Freeze Exceptions (tflink, 16:06:26)
* (1009809) KeyError: 'name' (tflink, 16:07:58)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1009809 (tflink,
16:07:58)
* Proposed Blocker, anaconda, ON_QA (tflink, 16:07:59)
* AGREED: 1009809 - RejectedBlocker - As stated in the F20 beta
criteria, only one of [nfs, nfsiso] is required to work for beta. As
nfs package sources have been confirmed to work, this is rejected as
a release blocking bug for f20 beta. (tflink, 16:11:08)
* (1013586) SizeNotPositiveError: spec= param must be >=0 (tflink,
16:11:16)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1013586 (tflink,
16:11:16)
* Proposed Blocker, anaconda, NEW (tflink, 16:11:16)
* AGREED: 1013586 - AcceptedBlocker - Violates the following F20 beta
release criterion for partitions not created using parted: "When
using the guided partitioning flow, the installer must be able to
... Complete an installation using any combination of disk
configuration options it allows the user to select" (tflink,
16:18:06)
* (1015220) can't log in as ordinary user after text install unless
under user spoke, password field is last one filled out (tflink,
16:18:29)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1015220 (tflink,
16:18:32)
* Proposed Blocker, anaconda, VERIFIED (tflink, 16:18:34)
* AGREED: 1015220 - AcceptedBlocker - Violates the following F20 alpha
release criterion for text installs where the user password isn't
the last spoke entered: "A system installed without a graphical
package set must boot to a state where it is possible to log in
through at least one of the default virtual consoles." (tflink,
16:23:23)
* (1016927) Fedora 20 Beta TC2 Anaconda Netinstall gets error checking
software configuration (tflink, 16:23:36)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1016927 (tflink,
16:23:39)
* Proposed Blocker, anaconda, NEW (tflink, 16:23:42)
* AGREED: 1016927 - This would be a blocker if the broken packages
were actually on any images but it was fixed quickly enough such
that it was never included. Thus, it is rejected as a release
blocking bug for f20 beta. (tflink, 16:34:11)
* (1016959) ValueError: Cannot remove non-leaf device 'btrfs.14'
(tflink, 16:34:24)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1016959 (tflink,
16:34:27)
* Proposed Blocker, anaconda, NEW (tflink, 16:34:30)
* AGREED: 1016959 - AcceptedBlocker - Violates the following F20 beta
release criterion, assuming that the disk layout in question is not
considered valid: "When using the custom partitioning flow, the
installer must be able to ... Reject or disallow invalid disk and
volume configurations without crashing." (tflink, 17:00:13)
* (1015234) F20 Beta TC1 ARM disk images unable to find root filesystem
(tflink, 17:01:31)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1015234 (tflink,
17:01:34)
* Proposed Blocker, dracut, NEW (tflink, 17:01:36)
* AGREED: 1015234 - AcceptedBlocker - Violates the following F20 alpha
release criterion for ARM images in virt and on bare-metal: "A
system installed with a release-blocking desktop must boot to a log
in screen where it is possible to log in to a working desktop using
a user account created during installation or a 'first boot'
utility." (tflink, 17:09:19)
* (1011714) btrfs scrub finds csum corruption after btrfs balance

17:12:45)
* Proposed Freeze Exceptions, kernel, MODIFIED (tflink, 17:12:47)
* AGREED: 1011714 - We'd like to see more information on how
big/invasive/risky this patch is before making a decision on FE,
will ask relevant devs and revisit at the next review meeting
(tflink, 17:31:46)
* (1015731) netinstall f20 Beta TC-1 x86_64 of sugar-desktop boots to
console login (tflink, 17:32:04)
* LINK: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1015731 (tflink,
17:32:07)
* Proposed Freeze Exceptions, sugar, NEW (tflink, 17:32:09)
* AGREED: 1015731 - AcceptedFreezeException - This prevents
sugar-desktop from booting or functioning properly after install. As
a secondary DE, a tested fix would be considered after freeze.
(tflink, 17:37:05)
* (901917) rescue a fedora system mode doesn't recognize luks
