ICA CON 2016, the 4th International IBM Cloud Academy Conference, will provide an exciting
opportunity for educators and researchers to share ideas and experiences in cloud
computing. The conference is open to both K-12 and higher education institutions already
implementing cloud technologies and services, or considering doing so.
The program will include invited keynotes, technical papers, position papers, workshops
and a technology showcase. The technical papers portion of the conference program will
feature experience reports and original research papers. The technology showcase will
feature poster presentations and demonstrations on cloud computing research or
implementations in progress. Selected papers from the conference proceedings will be
published as a special edition of the International Journal of Cloud Computing (IJCC; see

ICA CON 2016 will be an excellent venue for presenting original work, exchanging new
ideas, embracing cloud technologies, sharing results and experiences, and networking with
other leading institutions who are already implementing cloud solutions.
Topics of Interest
A range of topics relevant to cloud computing in education, government and research are of
interest, including (but not limited to) the ones below.
Standards and Open Source Strategies for Cloud Computing
Institutional Strategy and Planning for Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing Implementation Strategies
Systems Management in a Cloud Computing Environment
Building Green Data Centers
Software-engineering for the cloud
Data Management and Analytics on the Cloud
User Productivity with Cloud Computing
Research Computing in the Cloud
Pedagogical Impact of Cloud Computing
At least one author for each accepted paper should register and present at the
conference.

Initial short paper submissions (extended abstracts) should be 2-4 pages long and authors
should indicate the preferred mode of presentation (presentation or poster).
All submissions will be peer reviewed by three domain experts from among those listed on
the Technical and other Committees given below. Authors of selected papers / presentations
will be selected and invited to have work published in a special issue of the
International Journal of Cloud Computing (IJCC; see
